Күн бұрынVice President Harris is slated to deliver the keynote address Thursday at the 88th American Federation of Teachers national convention in Houston.
Harris emerged as the likely Democratic nominee for president earlier this week after President Biden announced he would withdraw from the presidential race. Since stepping in, the vice president has garnered a number of key endorsements from Biden, Democratic governors across the nation and others.
In her comments Thursday, she is likely to address major accomplishments of the Biden administration in the last four years, including the push for student loan forgiveness. But, as support rises for Harris, some have raised concerns that she is overlooking major concerns for students.
The event is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EDT.
