It’s a boxer trait. I had a rescue one time that never played with any dogs except the next door neighbors dachshund that jumped our fence from his doghouse roof and a crazy boxer puppy my friend had. All others were beneath him and he had no time for. Both dogs were not afraid of him and I think the only reason why he gave them any notice. He was a huge dog, Dane/Shepard/pound puppy that weighted over pounds and they were crazy enough to play with him when others trembled in his path. Stretched out sleeping he was over 6’ long and the boxer puppy had his rolling on the ground playing. They would both come back into the house wet with slobber and dirt. I always loved how crazy boxers can be. They are too much energy for a city dog for me though.

Maggie's joyous response to sign reminds me of my autism students' response to sign language (ASL) in the classroom. I'm so glad someone began applying it to dogs, so you could offer it to Maggie and experience these happy results. 🥰❤🙏🐶
