I had gotten the AA card 2+ years ago and closed it about a year ago, applied yesterday instant approval. Applied for Hawaiian card and I got the same screen as you. I was approved after calling the reconsideration line within 5 minutes, the rep offered to reallocate some of the credit. :)

I’m planning to max out these offers haha! I got a 80k Alaska offer so I’m thinking of getting the Barclays AAviator Red plus the Hawaiian within 2 mins of each other like Jacob did, plus the Air Canada card and the Alaska card. Probably overkill but I’m at 3/24 right now and these are too good to pass up! Congrats on getting approved for the cards!!

Let’s go Jacob! I did the exact same thing the other day with both cards too haha. Seemed like a no-brainer deal for some easy value for cards that may not exist down the line honestly. Makes sense since you also just got the AA Aviator right?

Yeah these cards could disappear any week so it’s good to get them now when there’s little effort to get the bonuses. My wife and I both got the Hawaiian cards and Aviator cards because there wasn’t a good reason not to get them

ugh kinda wish i had done this - i applied for the aa aviator red for the 70k, make a purchase, pay annual fee - but since citi is absorbing them in 2026 ill see if i can product change then

Your card will allow you to book discounted award tickets in coach. Similar to 15Off with Delta. The cost is reflected in the booking process once your Hawaiian cc is approved.

Also… yes, applying and getting approved for the Hawaiian card is a pita!! I won’t go into details but I was time consuming and somewhat intrusive.

That’s really good to know about the discounted award tickets. I’ll have to start looking at a few routes to test it out. I’m happy my Barclays experience was easier than most. I’ve heard the business cards are really difficult to be approved for so that could be my next challenge

I heard that you get a virtual card before the physical card delivers, can I use the virtual card for purchases before the physical one gets delivered?

I heard the 6/24 rules applies to total hard inquiries, not the number of credit cards approved for. I was denied :(

Sorry you got denied! Since it isn't an official rule, I guess it's hard to say if it's inquiries or approvals in the last 24 months. Maybe it's best to be under 6 approvals and inquires before applying. I hope you can get this card at some point!

I wanna open one but I had this card in 2018 and probably not eligible for the sign up bonus.

Barclays states you won’t be eligible for the bonus but many people have repeatedly received bonuses on the same card. I haven’t done it myself but I’ve heard people that canceled their cards at least 6-12 months ago have reapplied and been approved for the card and the bonus. It’s worth researching if you want the card again

@@JacobsPointsAndProfitso I just applied and got approved for the card. Called them to see if I’m eligible for the sign up bonus and the lovely lady told me that my account is eligible for the sub 🎉. I double checked my Barclay app and indeed there’s the 70k bonus after my first purchase.

What were your credit scores and which bureaus did the pull from?

Transunion and our credit scores were high 700’s

Barclays always pull Transunion regardless of location.
