I was with you for Best Western. I was with you for Choice. I was with you for Marriott. I was with you for IHG. I thought we were going to make a clean sweep of all six and then you chose Hyatt for your second favorite and Hilton for your first favorite rather than the reverse that I would have chosen. We were so close! I can't blame you for the Friends and Family discount. Would you still have chosen Hilton as #1 if you had no access to the discount?
@JacobsPointsAndProfit4 күн бұрын
So close! I would probably have Hyatt and Hilton flipped if I didn't have the discount. I would still like the Hilton experience more, but because of how easy it is to use Chase points for Hyatt it would be my favorite points redemption

@@JacobsPointsAndProfit That makes sense. I can't blame you for it and I would do the same if I had that opportunity. So, we can call it 6/6!

I got the AmEx Platinum and booked Turkish Airlines direct only to have a leg canceled and seat assignments denied. So I canceled Turkish direct. I rebooked with Chase via my Sapphire Reserve, and booked my condo and a hotel using Citi Strata/Travel and Delta Gold/Stays. Great bookings, while getting an immediate head start on rebuilding points. A booking price advantage is only an advantage if the travel goes smoothly.

Asiana seoul to seattle business class did not impress for two reasons: 1. They dont provide a comforter to sleep? Really so cheap? 2. Food is totally rushed, not served with love and care and crew shortly after completely disappears The food is good and service is good for the most part. Young flight attendants are hard working and eager whereas the purser and older attendants are mean rude and lazy.
@JacobsPointsAndProfit6 күн бұрын
It's interesting because I haven't received a comforter on any of my 5 business class flights. I did notice the flight attendants weren't as attentive as some of my other experiences, but if this flight was available again I'd give it another shot

Great video! For the citi rewards + card when talking about 10% points back when redeemed - do they have to be redeemed through citi travel or does it also count as redeemed if you transfer the points to a travel partner?
@JacobsPointsAndProfit6 күн бұрын
Thanks! It's hard to say because I don't have the card but here's what the terms state, "When you redeem your ThankYou Points, you’ll receive 10% points back for the first 100,000 ThankYou Points redeemed per calendar year. This means that if you redeem 10,000 ThankYou Points, you’ll receive 1,000 ThankYou Points from the 10% Points Back feature. You will not receive 10% Points Back on points you redeem on Points Sharing transactions."

My cashback card lineup: Amazon Prime - 5% cashback on everything Amazon Citi Custom cash - 5% cashback on restaurants Citi double - unlimited 2% cashback Kohls rewards - 7.5% cashback Discover debit - 1% cashback on all purchases And then I use discovers high interest savings account. From all of this i earn about $800 per year. I preach using these tools to everyone, once you do the initial setup, which includes free bonus,’ all you have to do is pay off your bills in full every month, just make sure to setup auto pay so you’ll never mess up, and you’ll get $800ish every year for very little work, $800 isn’t life changing but it is a good chunk of change

Disappointed. So far my #2 doesn't appear to have the targeted offer for united. While I've purchased the tickets, her Miles number has 8 or 9 flights this year. With one of my cards as a AU she may be coming off 5/24 last month. Should clear her credit report next report date. I wonder if this is a consideration.

You can actually split your credit lines with your cards. Ie if you have 30k in lines of credit let’s say 3 cards $10k each but you use a specific card more…you could have the lines moved and have $20k on that card and $5k for three other two cards. Chase does it. I used to work for BofA in the credit card division and we use to do it as well.

My problem with Marriott is that the dynamic pricing structure is actually insane. Wyndham caps its award nights at 30k points. Hilton's award nights depend on the property, but generally speaking, you're looking at 30-50k for a mid-tier property and 90-115k for a top tier property. The dynamic pricing means that even Courtyards and Fairfields can sometimes show outlandish point values out of range of the cheap FNCs on the Business and Boundless. Yes, the benefit is that SOMETIMES a JW might be available with the top-off feature, but more often than not, it just doesn't make any sense for them to not have an across-the-board award structure based on room type.
@JacobsPointsAndProfit22 күн бұрын
I've wanted to stay at the lower tier Marriott hotels but sometimes the points price is so high I wouldn't consider it. It would be nice if the Marriott cards offered higher value free nights awards
