How do u know what text style to use? Like mine is a paranormal romance. With humans,vampires, witches, werewolf etc
@AurelieMaronStudio9 ай бұрын
When choosing a typeface, you need to consider the genre and the tone you want to convey. Serif fonts can evoke a classic and elegant feel, while script fonts can add a touch of romance, for example. It's all about doing some research and experimenting with different options to find a typeface that complements the theme and captures the essence of your story.

Hey Aurelie! Great work as always. I've learned so much from your paid courses. I also appreciate these lengthy behind the scenes videos on You Tube. They explain a lot about your process, with a relaxed vibe. This proves you aren't a machine. You've just got super human skills 😊

How do you get your lines smooth? What % do you put the brush on? mine come out a bit wobbly 😅
@AurelieMaronStudio8 ай бұрын
I'm using the Flawless Inking brush from my Vintage Lettering Toolkit (aureliemaron.com/shop/p/vintage-lettering-toolkit-for-procreate) There are multiple settings but the stabilisation is set to 30% ☺️

This is mindblowing, wow! Technical question: How would you use this for a printed book, don’t they need vectorized fonts for that?
@AurelieMaronStudio6 ай бұрын
I absolutely would! All you need is a high-resolution .pdf in CMYK :) It doesn't need to be a vector file.

Hi Aurelie, but the guidelines that you use at the beginning, to help you set up the creation of the cover, are they also adaptable for the front? That is, if you had to create a complete book cover (front/back/spine) what would the measurements be? Can you tell me? :)
@AurelieMaronStudioАй бұрын
Book cover measurements depend on your specific book size. You can measure a similar book or ask your printer for exact specifications and a template :)
@UrbexontheroaditalyАй бұрын
@@AurelieMaronStudio Thanks for the reply, you are very kind. But if I measure the cover with a tape measure, let's say 8.5 inches by 11, should I put these measurements as static data by opening a new canvas? and in the other settings? what and how do I set them?
@AurelieMaronStudioАй бұрын
@@Urbexontheroaditaly Yes, maybe check out a tutorial on how to make a custom canvas in Procreate :)

I really enjoy watching your process. Can’t wait for masterclass 2.0. Loved all your courses. I am scrambling to make items for my Christmas shop so couldn’t do the challenge but hope to be ahead of time for next year. I’ve been stuck in lettering kindergarten for years but not giving up. Thank you for the lessons and inspiration.

Thank you so much for your kind words and for taking my courses. Remember, every step forward no matter how small, is progress. Looking forward to seeing you in Retro Sign Masterclass 2.0!

A MASTER at work. It's fascinating to watch your process, I learned so much from this. I also learned that I'm a hoarder of my working layers as I watched you flatten all of yours with no hesitation! Lol. Do you keep a separate file with the layers still unmerged? I do it in case I need to make an edit, but maybe that's what's making me overthink all of my work lol. Thank you for sharing your process for this piece, and for all your content, really. You are always an inspiration!
@AurelieMaronStudio10 ай бұрын
OMG yes! I always do make duplicates of my artwork before flattening, just in case I need to make any edits or changes later on. Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I'm glad you found my process helpful and learned from it! 💜✨

Looking forward to part 2 of inside your work flow. Can you share what your canvas size and how you mark your guides/bleeds for your prompts?💕

Taking the leap might be scary, but sooner your start, the sooner you will make progress. And yes, I'll make sure to cover that in the next video. 💜

Thank you for sharing your progress. I admire your eye for cohesion and detail. So inspiring! I have a small question, how do you make a back up of your document ( before you use flatten) and where/how do you save it? My documents are so big and it takes so much of the storage spaces I have. Hope you can help me.
@AurelieMaronStudio11 ай бұрын
Thanks! I simply duplicate my document. I also backup my files on a hard drive (I just airdrop the Procreate files to my computer) ☺️
