The less than perfect English in the original DM conversation would have thrown up red flags for me for sure! That is very common in scam situations like this. Glad it all worked out and you figured out how to get control back yourself! That is a shame that Meta doesn't have the resources to address situations like these quicker (and if bigger accounts like yours have this much trouble, I guess the normal lay person is truly outta luck!)

Crazy, man. How stressful. It’s weird that FB even has these options that would allow the creator of the business page to get kicked off. I must be ignorant as to why that would even be a thing, but presumably there’s a decent reason for it (maybe if someone buys a business out). Either way, glad you recovered it - no thanks to Meta! 🤘🏻

This is insane. You only were able to resolve it by finding a way to do it on your own. These corporations are mindless cash generating machines. What was even in it for the hackers? Looks like not much in this case other than some sadistic enjoyment. Maybe they're practicing for something even more nefarious...

The initial email they sent you was so vague, poorly written, and obviously not tailored to you, which are all potential red flags. Watch out for that in the future!

id save everything and completely wipe harddrive and reinstall windows. they could be waiting to pick their right spit to come in and destroy your movie production. i myself wouldnt chance it. better to have a major headache then to get mortal kombat fatality.
