I started my locs Jan 6th 2022, so I'll be 11 months in a few days.. I've been interlocking my hair mostly though, since my hair comes undone the next day after a retwist.. I have thin hair so my locs aren't super thick like yours, I have about 72 locs or so, I'm planning on combining them to make them thicker, I love the look of thicker locs. I also used oils, water, and supergro gel on my hair and I realize when I use oils and products my scalp becomes so itchy and my hair get dirty faster and I honestly don't think it helps with the growth of my hair... So from today.. Lol I'm gonna just use water and no products and I'm gonna stop interlocking and start retwisting again, interlocking makes my scalp sooo sore, my hair is gonna be super dry with just water but I'll see how it goes. You're an inspiration, I absolutely love your locs and your content! Thank you for sharing your loc journey!

@@JA.KARI.A Girl!! I just want to thank you again. This is almost 4 weeks I've been using water only on my locs, and I have to tell you, my hair is noticeably longer, stays cleaner for longer, doesn't itch as much, and also it's heavier and it bounces lol it's like my hair is sayin "Thank you girl! We can breathe! " lol I have had more growth in 4 weeks than I had all year. I Retwisted with rose water for the 1st time yesterday and I didn't think it would hold without a gel or something but the next day, it still looks neat! I'm shocked. Water only is the way to go for me. I don't use distilled water though. I use regular tap water or bottled water and I'll be using rose water to retwist because rose water is a tad bit expensive here.. But so far so good. Thanks again!!

Hey I know you don't have locs anymore but I have a question!! At what point did you stop using the crochet needle? I saw early on that you used it to start after sectioning your hair, but you didn't use it at all here. I'm asking because my locs are at the teenage stage now and I'm getting mixed opinions on whether to keep crocheting, with some people saying it damages hair

They’re so juicy ohmygoodness 👏🏽 I didn’t know the balls meant that and also I didnt know they shed I thought the hair was supposed to stay in? Which makes the loc? Anyways I did instant locs and I “retwisted” and ig I locked some too close to the root so they didn’t twist nor stay twisted 😂 but they stayed in tact and just stiff lol
@JA.KARI.A2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the hair stays in. But not every single strand of hair will always stay in. Locs will shed (especially starter locs), but no where near as much as loose hair.
