Hey girl, can you do a video on naturally thin hair, I haven’t loc’d my hair yet and I’ve been considering it. However to achieve the size she has (pencil size) I would only be able to do about 15 locs as my hair strands are thin and my hair it self isn’t thick either.

I'm a teacher with locs, 5 years in. Thick and disrespectful! I have a Master's in Early Childhood Education..went on every interview with my beautiful locs. Every student I've ever taught or come across has been in love with my hair and say they wish theirs was like mine. Fuck "professionalism" it's a made up construct!🤟🏽😝

Wait. People still saying locs unprofessional in the year of our Lord 2021? 😒. I've had my 4th (and last) set of locs for almost 3 years. I'm Licensed Clinical Social Worker and work for local government. I started my first set of locs 20 years ago and I've always had "professional" jobs. I even rock headwraps.... Never had an issue. People really need to get it together.. S/N... I remember growing up it was our own Caribbean people that sometimes had theeeee worst things to say abt locs...🤦🏾‍♀️smh!! Great job as always Yannie!! Yanni, I just love you and your videos! I've had my locs for nearly 4 years. They are rude, disrespectful, and downright rebellious! I love them! My only problem is "Hand-in-hair-itis" Keep on doing what you're doing! The only thing I put on my locs is rosewater and vitamin E oil. I also am very cautious about letting folks I don't know touching my hair. I was in the grocery store and this lady was looking at me smiling...I mean-mugged her and she went on bout her business! One day I hope to meet you in person. Peace & Blessings to you and Jimmy!

I am a older person who started locs because my natural hair was a short dry mess. I am a case manger and a Rehab therapist. I've never had any negative comments about my locs. I follow Yannie and everything she tells us is true. Thankful for her lessons

I'm in the insurance industry, working in a professional, corporate environment. I also worked in personal lines insurance sales, going into all backgrounds of persons' homes and my locs were/are half down my back. I keep them clean and neat and haven't had any issues with people judging or discrimination. 😉

I am a teacher also. My students and staff have nothing but compliments and admiration for my hair. I live in the UK. I’m Jamaican/English, 54 and have just started my locs (6 months in). I love the confidence and freedom I now have from embracing the process and letting my hair do what it naturally wants to do. Still learning and following you for how to have the healthiest hair possible. Thank you

I have been wearing locs since 2000, back then I got a lot of negative comments at work and from black and white women, since then 70% of all those negative people are either wearing natural hair or have locs. The key is education and what's best for that person.

Hi Yanni, I hope you are doing fine. I have locs for the past 20 years and some of them is thinning and you are so correct in your analysis.
