What I don't understand is that the same preacher who is negating the Sabbath has a sign about the commandment for murder. If the law is not to be obeyed, then why advocate against abortion. We all have fallen short of God's law, however, once we accept Christ, we need to obey His law. Jesus said, If you love me, keep my commandments. No legalism on this.

What I find so astonishing and frightening is that these people who claim to be Christians don't want to hear anything about keeping the law, yet the Bible is so clear, if you love me keep my Commandments. When Jesus uttered those words was he talking about his Father's commandments(The law) or he was talking about his commandments(Love one another) so what makes you think he was talking about the old covenant commandments yet he himself gave a lot of his own commandments which were a foundation for the church that was to be formed in Jerusalem in the near future.

@@sledge387 He was talking about the Ten Commandments proper, He only summarised the Commandments to two succinct sentences (Matthew 22:37 -40). Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart - first four parts of the Ten Commandments. Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thy self - the last six parts of the Ten Commandments as simple as that. Jesus does the will of His Father (John5:19) there's no way He can annul what God has written with His Own Finger (Exodus 31:18) and substitute it with His Own.

So both the commandments given by Jesus were taken somewhere else not from the ten commandments and he went on to say that on these two commandments hang the whole law and the prophets. It is sad that people do not understand that we are in a system built like a legal system. 1) God is a Ruler and He has laws that His creations have to observe. 2) God has established the death penalty for breaking His Laws. 3) God can not change any part of His laws 4) God provided a substitute (Jesus) to take our death penalty. 5) God provided a court appointed lawyer to defend those who believe in Jesus sacrifice and saving plan. 6) God as established that His saints will spend one thousand years in heaven looking over the books of records. This will happen then God will sit at the Great White Throne Judgment at which time He will execute sentences. You do not keep the Commandments to be saved BUT because you are saved you show love to God and each other by keeping the law. God did not change the substance of the old covenant but rather He improved on the terms, a new covenant. Ask a New Covenant Christian what are the substance/ terms of the new covenant. They may say love God and love each other not realizing that these two are simply a summary of the Ten Commandments. Don't be deceived

Dude thinks he can drive too fast in front of the speed control, then claim he will not have to face the consequences of losing his licence. While if you drive not above the speed limit, you don't have to face the consequences of driving too fast. And if you have faith that your cruise-control function will not betray you, you don't even have to look at your speed. And you will not have to go through any judgment because and therefore will not be concerned by the sanction. Then, you trust that the speed limit law is good, to avoid naming though other vehicles. But if you keep the speed law only to avoid the tickets, you will not have understood why there is a speed limit. And not so much people are capable of driving responsibly if there's no speed limit (not respectful of others as the Germans for example).

I don't know why it is so hard to explain. The children of israel was a type of every christian. We were set free from bondage by Christ, we are thrust into a wilderness experience to learn God's law. Because what were we doing before we got saved? Breaking God's law. So they were given the commandments and when they broke the commandments they did a work OF the law which was to bring a lamb. It was their work to do that as a type of one who would come to do that. Jesus Christ. But now that Christ came He did the work and is our Lamb. We now can't do any work for He did the work for us. He took away the penalty of the law, NOT the law. The guarantee the law still stands is because He paid for s** past, present, and future. How can He pay for future s** if the law is wiped away?? John says if we s** we now have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, that if we confess He is faithful to forgive AND cleanse us from all unright living. And we only KNOW s** by the Law. The law is just and good. It will be kept in perfection in eternity when we are changed. For God has the right to do this now for we are justified by faith in God through the process of His Lamb, Jesus Christ. Paul says, it does not appear what we shall be, but when we see Him we shall be like Him for we shall see Him as He is, perfect. In that Day. How do i live my daily life? I have the law of God in my forehead and right hand, what i believe and my actions, and if i fail i have a Lamb God provided, Jesus Christ. We have a more perfect sacrifice for the blood of bulls and goats could not take away s**. Why did Paul say that if the process wasn't ongoing?? The doing of the law which is to bring a lamb is over, we have a Lamb God provided now. So the Law still stands and we now have a perfect Lamb that God provided. We live perfect before God by not breaking the law, AND we are still perfect before God when we confess our s*** to Christ and He forgives us and we are cleansed and helped not to s** NO MORE. This is the process and it is life long and one day we will enter into the promiseland of eternity with God. If i have the spirit of Christ living in me and He kept the law, then i too want to keep the law as well.

We don't HAVE to keep Christ's commandments. The only folk who need bother keeping His commandments are the folk that LOVE Him. God's people don't keep His commandments to Get saved. That comes from Jesus and the Grace of God alone. God's people keep the 10 commandments because we are Already saved. We show our faith through our works (James 2:17-26). The 4th (Sabbath) commandment is the ONLY one of the 10 that tells us which God has given this law (Exo 20:11). By keeping the Sabbath (as God did after His 6 days of creating our world) we know we worship the Creator of all things. This is in the 1st angel's message of Rev 14 as well as Heb 4:1-11 also. Sunday keepers have no biblical assurance. They have taken the Creator OUT of the law and have no idea which god they worship now. Even Pagan nations/religions have good moral laws against murder, theft, adultery, worshiping other gods besides our own, etc. But the Creator of all things is not there.

The Sabbath wasn't created with the law. It existed before the law, and Judaism, existed. "The Sabbath was created for man, not man for the Sabbath". It says 'for man', meaning all men, regardless of what they believe, not for 'the Jews'. It is not legalism to keep the Sabbath, because the Sabbath exists outside the law.

Who counted the weeks from creation up to date to know which day is first or seventh?, Hard truth is that the current calendar came later and people decided which day was first in the week. The true sabbath is not a particular day but rest in Jesus Christ.

1 John 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If you are saying you can keep the law of God not only in your actions but in your heart and mind too you are lying to yourself. The only way you are making it is because Jesus payed the price ahead of you. The only person to ever walk this earth and keep the law perfectly was Jesus and no other persons could ever do that.

Therefore none adventists will not enter the kingdom of God? When Jesus said keep my commandments, did he mean the 10 commandments? He merely meant keep/obey/follow my teachings. All days are equal before the Lord and any of them can be used to worship God. i live in Muslim country and we worship on Fridays, brother Lawrence you are getting it wrong by insisting about the Saturday worship. God is looking for only those who will worship him in spirit and in truth. Just to prove to you that the keeping of Sabbath was for the Jews only and until the coming of Christ, you will find that Israel is ahead and behind in time to many other regions by over 10 hours, therefore they can't have same day as Sabbath day, and that makes it clear that it's not only Saturday which is santified for God's worship. After all the adventist keep the day but not keep it holy, they don't obey all the requirements which was needed for the Sabbath to be kept holy.
