Some clearly overact just to get attention and usually that turns out to draw in a large younger audience. An older audience - at least one ranging from older teens to adults - can usually get an idea of whether you're being genuine or not. I've dropped watching some youtubers because they clearly didn't give their genuine thoughts and just tossed out whatever they felt would get them the most views. While it's easy to understand why it doesn't really make it interesting to watch.

Well, that was just charming. The art is great, the puzzles were fine for such a short game, I liked the reveal that everything was just a normal party and that nothing scary was actually going on. The reveal about our main character doesn't shock me, it's a good amusing note to end things on. That was fun!

I think there's a lot of cute horror games : Ib , Witch's House , quite a few other games that I forget the titles of , and various other games ( mostly the ones made with rpg maker and "visual novels" ) - have varying levels of the cute factor. Sure , we could always use more but they aren't exactly what I would call rare. Not common perhaps but not rare either. Oh , I just remembered another one : Changed. Some of the transformations are cute and the art is more cutesy in a way but it can also be disturbing....it counts as a body horror game....it is a horror game due to it being about forced transformation / mutation and has suggestive content. I would consider Your Boy friend to be another kinda "cute" game and a lot of yandere stuff can be "cutesy" horror.

I saw someone play this game last year so it wasn't really scary also there are hints that Marilyn is a real witch. We start off in a rooftop which is weird way to get into a party, she assumed that the people there are dead or undead meaning she just got in. If she was an ordinary person, she would have been surprised and in shock to see a dead body.

Most objects do have more lines if you interact with them again. Understandable to not go through all of them, though. Except for the trashcan, for obvious reasons. Only one of particular note that I recall offhand is with the lights back on, the bookshelf with the figurines there's a reference to one of the devs other games; just has Marilyn start playing it. At least until you click again. That's ones that specifically require you to interact twice, though. There was also a bit for using the stool on the vent next to the bathroom. One thing that kind of makes me sad is that you can go to the upstairs mirror after you put on the mask, but it doesn't have a special image for it. Or even bothers to have you take off the mask just to interact with it. Or some other excuse to not have to make the extra art. Like refusing to interact with it while the mask is on. As for the ritual, I'd say that the ending dialog implies that it might well not have been what the diary implies it would have been. Marilyn shows up as the 'new kid', befriends everyone, hence the 'two weeks of acting' in the final lines. And that it was a seance. So probably wouldn't have done what she had claimed according to the diary, at least not directly. Given the concern for bathtub guy, it's probably not something harmful. Which is actually kind of hilarious in that, if you interact with the 'corpses' enough, Marilyn just comments about being 'desensitized' to them now. Not sure on the specifics, but probably interacting with each one twice ends up with them all having that comment next time you interact with one. Though one thing I must say is having the power breaker in a secret room is a really strange building decision on the architect of that house. Or of the modifications to the house to allow that puzzle to open up that secret door, especially without the power on. And also have it relock while inside it. I mean, I guess its sort of like a discount panic room, but not too helpful in that the secret door doesn't block the light that well, what with it being incredibly obvious once the record player starts going. And the hole into the regular basement. But then, there's the background info you get on Stephanie's parents if you read the note on the fridge once the lights are on that doesn't really paint them in the best light. Or the fact that the water STILL doesn't work even if you check them after the lights go back on. I can't remember if it also states that they're badly maintained when the lights are on, or if its only a lights off message. And Marilyn will end up just vanishing, since its pretty much strongly implied that shes not going to continue acting, since she failed in her goals. Not that it was likely that she'd continue if she succeeded.

Only gripe about this game is the fact that the protag hit their head and forgot everything. Of course it's necessary for the plot, but it's really out of the blue and amnesia isn't really that common when you hit your head on something. Maybe forgetting what you were just doing, but not full on "who am I" Edit: after seeing the ending, the gripe seems less of a gripe and more of a "well the game was cool in the end"
