Today was a rough day, but it ended well as we got to see the closing ceremony of the Pakistan-India border, which has a quite strange atmosphere considering the two countries are basically enemies politically. My shining wala friends, a few of the recent videos haven’t been as positive, so just wanted to give you guys an explanation: I had a GREAT time in Lahore! A few bad things don’t turn me off from a place at all. 99% of people were nice, welcoming, and friendly. But as a film maker, I want to show my real experiences. I show the good and bad. As a British Pakistani I was in Pakistan 2018 and I experienced similar issues some drivers in career and Uber doing theses dodegy things but it was very minor to the VIP treatment, love, happiness I received from Pakistan like you have in the videos.

Chris, As a Pakistani living in United States for the last 30 years, I can assure you that the vast majority of people aren’t like that. I am from Karachi myself and can attest that there are corrupt people in our society everywhere not just Lahore. However, most people just want to earn an honest living. Because of economic austerity that Pakistan has been experiencing many choose to break legal and moral laws. This isn’t what our religion and our culture teaches us but unfortunately, many choose to not follow either. I hope this once incident won’t define your entire trip to Pakistan.

That Uber scam is very common in Pakistan. Lot's of locals bring up the issue on groups and forums. Usually you can successfully report the driver to Uber and they can ban him.

Hi chris, to avoid ass holes like this, just mention that you’re going to see your friend who is an army commander and that he is waiting for you. This will hold a lot of weight and probably scare the guy so he doesn’t try any funny business, works every time I’m dealing with taxi drivers there since he will know the repercussions.

With Harry and Mac, my guess is they don’t travel the same way we do. I interact more with the people and so of course I’m going to have different experiences. As for Karl, he also makes videos about scams/bad experiences in India, Pakistan, and Nepal, among other countries. Every country has it, just some countries and some places more than others. But do know that my experience overall in Lahore was still great 😄 but as a film maker, I want to show my real experiences. I show the good and bad. Mostly my experiences are all great though 😝😄

Damn that's sad, I'm from Karachi and we've heard stories about Lahori drivers didn't know it was that prevalent 😬 Usually uber and careem refunds your whole amount if you just report the ride on the app, it's quite easy, I have reported some bad rides as well, sometimes the riders would make excuses and drop me mid way. So when I reported them on the App about my bad experience, I got full refund :)

Really sorry that uber driver did this to u. Its not only with the foriegners but some of these drivers do the same with locals too even if u know the routes. Never pay them more than the money appers on your account and also complain about them if they overcharge you. You can also refund your extra charges on complain. I used Uber in Pakistan once, got scammed on first ride. Careem is good though but slightly expensive. I was like screw this shit, I am not doing this again, bought myself a Motorcycle and never used Taxi services ever since.

@@warlordseye4883 I myself used Careem a lot, but as I kept using it, it became unaffordable. I have my car but I only use it when I need to bring someone with me or far away places, too much rush and parking issue where I live, so I don't use my own car. I got sick of Careem prices so decided to give Uber a try, he wasted my time and scammed me with money too. I became so so angry. Next day, I went to motorcycle dealership and bought a bike, best decision ever. Its easy to use in rush hours, no issue with parking too, cheaper than using Bus fares, quickly takes you to your destination. I now use my moto everywhere I go.
