I started getting monkey channels in my recommended over the past week but these people were abusing them and just exploiting them. I came across this channel and this is different. Im addicted to watching this channel. He doesn't bother them at all, he actually generally cares about these monkeys and it drew me in. This is the only channel Im subscribed too and when I come across those other channels that exploit and abuse them I just report them. Thank you for this channel and for what you do ❤️

So am I! This is the best monkey channel! When I see abuse videos from other channels I report them too. But I don’t see option “animal abuse”, only “child abuse”(and sometimes I choose it). Usually I choose “dangerous”, “aggressive”. What option do you choose when you report abuse?

Sweet old Nan is always there to try to get Nora to be more kind and motherly to her babies. Offers to babysit when Nora starts to get abusive to the baby. Mostly gets ignored.

Sadly I have no hope for this baby. She is doing the same as before last year, hugging it to her neck, not her chest. Hope I am wrong. For anyone skeptical about Nora, there is another VO on here called JW, and 2 to 3 years ago she filmed Nora being vicious to her baby at the time. I do believe he survived though.

Stop with the asking to interfere and mess up the troop if Nora was fixed can only imagine her kidnapping other babies and probably killing them to stay alpha, baby is freshly born doubt she dragged it and hurt it she's still bleeding and baby has fresh cord still so it was just born how ever long it took baby to dry off probably in couple hours of Nora hugging baby and baby hasn't latched on yet all signs baby is really fresh she's not abusing it at least not yet the face is from birthing

Wild macaques don’t have the choice of getting pregnant and becoming a mother, because they are not human beings. @@tngrandma242 glad you're ok.. little pusscat not had them yet but any day now..we have been feeding her with high calorie food and vitamin supplements she will need all the help she can get her little body is just so tired..and she is only around 2 yrs old.. she is monitored all the time in case she needs help with them..and as they're so small they might need help too..fingers crossed for all if them..just so glad we got her..don't feel guilty one iota..the vet says any day now..the longer she can hold on the better for them all..but nature doesn't work to a clock..I've got to take one of mine to the vet as she has a lump under her chin..i think its an abcess..so anti biotics for her then maybe surgery..ive got another that needs a dental op too..so expensive but got to be done..having my lockdown hair cut tomorrow thank God..its over my shoulder and i normally have short messy bedhead style..cannot wait especially with the warmer weather..got it in a tiny ponytail..god cant remember last time i had one of those..in my early teens..i have that style as both my shoulder rotator cuffs are knackered so cannot get my hands to the back to dry my hair so the messy look suits me fine..i just put a silver mousse on it to give it a bit of zing 😻.. might have it pink next time..

It would be a monumental undertaking. Arroz has been studying & documenting several troops for literally years but he is only familiar with a small fraction of the now 3000+ macaques in the Hong Kong Parks. There simply isn’t enough resources (time & money) to determine which individual animals should be spared sterilization or conversely, be spayed or neutered. These macaques are not endangered. In fact, there are too many of them in many locations in Southeast Asia or India. The authorities want to prevent the population from from becoming a danger to each other, local wildlife, & humans in a quest for territory & food. It’s a numbers game and we are fortunate that Hong Kong is doing the more humane tubal ligations & vasectomies, instead of hysterectomies & castrations, or even worse culling healthy animals to reduce populations.

I too stumbled across this video and was pleasantly surprised that Arroz Marisco is telling it like it is and not abusing or interfering with the monkeys' lives. Keep up. the good work. It is nice to know that someone isn't lying, using slingshots or drugging the monkeys to make money off of naive people sending money to others who are abusing these beautiful animals. YAY! Two newborns, how wonderful. At least the second baby seemed to be nursing well. The other poor little mite had the misfortune of being born to Nora. I do hope it's still alive today and I hope it's a boy since they seem to have a better chance of survival. A nice boy's name would be Nate, or do we already have one of those? Many thanks, Arroz! I would like to see spanky have her second baby. She got broke in good with her first baby sparky. She learned to be a good mom but wow what a first time baby. She was so energetic feisty with a mind of her own. Loved when she saved her lil aunt from kidnapper such a smart and loyal to her family baby she was. She showed no fear just went after the kidnapper like it was what she was supposed to do. What a special baby she was but she has such a loving mom also.

The compassionate lady who pushes the food trolley up the hill is a kind soul, who goes put of her way to feed the different troops. However, I'm not so confident about Nora. I'll say a prayer and hope she doesn't mistreat her baby like the last two who died. She might just changed her ways--only time will tell. 🙏🙏🙏🙊🙊🙊🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Only a few hours old and already that poor baby is desperately trying to cling on as best it can with no help whatsoever, and instead of being held close and cuddled after the traumatic experience of birth and the loss of a warm, protective environment with all its needs met, left to lie on the ground half the time and flung about like a rag doll most of the other half. The only time it’s being ‘held’ is when Nora is trying to hold her ear of corn and eat beans at the same time and her arm crosses over the baby. Because of the corn, not the baby. Nora doesn’t even try to help the baby lift itself close enough to latch on and nurse. It may be instinct for the baby to try but at just birth it needs support, physically and psychologically. Some may see Nora as ‘late bloomer’ with motherhood, but it’s more that luck has allowed some of her babies to survive. She’s abused all of her babies to some level (The eldest, Vince, seems to have made it off lightest), and on a non emotional, practical side, since the two that she basically starved to death were girls, she’s not helping the troop any by growing their numbers. I can only hope that Celessa and any other daughters that manage to live through infancy and eventually have babies of their own don’t repeat this cycle but model their behaviour on the other mothers around them or on that of their aunt/grandmother Nan. Yes, it’s the wild and they are not people, but these particular animals are so closely related to us that it’s difficult not to notice some behavioural similarities, and certainly not difficult to see the difference between an abusive parent (Nora), a desperate one with few resources and societal stigma that affects behaviour (Gypsy, Tina), and loving mothers like Norma, Reddy, Dolly, Gaby, etc. The possibly short life of this baby will be difficult to watch. And the treatment it will receive even if it survives equally excruciating.

I wish Nora wasn't so mean, dare I say again she is acting more like a long tailed macaque or like some human moms which I just can't and will never understand. I spoke with many guys from HK, everyone was sure that monkey has been fed well and regularly. Based on what I saw , I explained her. I think somehow people began to be aware of the problem more than before and one of the huge reason is you Arroz, my friend.

I feel so sorry for the little ones who have harsh or abusive mothers. It's heartbreaking and you feel so helpless. Studies have shown that like in humans, when baby monkeys are mistreated by their mother, they tend to grow up to become abusive to their own offspring, so they pass it on from one generation to the next. Very sad.
