That's not how the wiper plug is chased by the spacer. The spacer is pushing the plug, instead this animation shows the plug falls freely by gravity leaving air at the back, and spacer later dripping to fill the void.

I’m probably wrong but I think it’s the hold time pressure on the bore and a slurry sample taken of the cement up top as well as a bulk sample taken… Then after the appropriate amount of time there is a pressure test applied on the plug. I may be wrong but that what remember
