SpaceX launched Starship for 5th time on Oct. 13, 2024 from Starbase in south Texas. The Super Heavy booster was caught by the launch tower's 'chopsticks' shortly after separation from Starship.
A little over an hour after launch, Starship splashed down and exploded in the Indian Ocean after re-entering Earth's atmosphere.

I am still in awe that they managed to catch it on the first try. I just think about the fact that with Falcon 9 landings on land, they aren't able to hit the center of the pad every time. Yet they precisely guided the largest booster in history to a specific location and catch it in mid-air. Absolutely incredible!

if you can land on a barge or ship, why is it so special to be caught in the tower? It's sort of cool but c'mon space x has the best engineers in the business .

After watching 1000 times the "Catch", this video is great to see the flaps moving. Was the explosion at the end triggered by the FTS?

No, because you could hear during the decent that the FTS was safed. I have no idea why it happened, but it happened to the booster last time too. Exploded shortly after the water landing
