We shouldn't be involving the names of other Gods in our items at all anymore because it means worshipping them and teaching too and passing on those kind of ideas and ideals. We should know not too in this new millennium by now! Our children are the future! Stay focused and try to remember and put the non worshipping of the other Gods and not involving or making mention of all their names in our culture and cultural songs and custom and traditions. Focus on God and put him first. Otherwise, nice show! God bless.

What are the name of Gods in those items and why was it not cut off during the time of the revolution? Some referred to the female 'Ura Pa'u' dancing to be considered as too revealing and lustful. However, that's not going to stop everyday people going to the beaches, and swimming pools half naked though and never question it? Therefore, idol worship can also means embracing that curse in that culture, maybe...interesting thought.

I think it's beautiful! It teaches our people about the rich culture and traditions we have. If we want our people to learn the culture, it MUST be taught the right way. If anything, Christianity is the reason why most of our cultural traditions have been lost because it has changed the way we behave and think as a society. It is a blessing. However, we must remember who we were and what our ancestors have done to try and keep our traditions alive as it is what makes us unique!

I'm from Tongareva, and we no longer have any "Ariki" whatsoever anymore.. We only have one Ariki, and that's our Lord and Saviour.. In saying that other Islands that do have their Ariki, are not necessarily their ancestral God's, that they prayed to prior to Christianity arriving, but their Kings or Queens of their tribes (or family line) so the theme here is basically talking about who their Ariki was prior to Christianity arriving or who their Ariki is now.. And Majority portray their Ancestral God prior to Christianity and then in other items portray the destruction of those Ancestral God of theirs..

From that mentality, we then should together forget our culture and traditions. We should embrace the white man's culture because they brought us Christianity. What I see from here is the embracement of our culture and traditions, implementing it to our Christian values. None of the culture teams are worshipping tangaroa, they are merely embracing their history...
