Mr dash, thank you for a fantastic synopsis vlog. Keep up the terrific work. The wind always come from the east on fraser so setting up as youve done is always the best way😊. Cheers! Looking forward to seeing your adventure to birdsville and beyond! Prices on fraser re fuel food booze etc... always generally double. Thank goodness for long range tanks!

Frasers an unreal place and we’re lucky to be able to call it our stomping ground. Pity you couldn’t get to the Cape, the fires have damaged it pretty badly. Last trip we did before the fires we camped up their for a week. Awesome place for fishing and perfect if you want to be completely cut off by the tide. Tends to be not too many cars up there either.

Last time we were there we saw the local copper in full uniform on the beers with the locals. Later reports were he crashed the police 4wd car attending to an incident involving backpackers as he was blind! Funny stuff happens on phrase her

A nice concise summary of what to expect on Fraser. On the beach runs how much does the tide dictate when you can? I noted a couple of places that where ‘single lane’ Cheers...

Yes, have to take note of tides before moving around 👍

Hey mate, great video. Often see this shared on Facebook sites for people wondering about towing caravans on Fraser. With limited info this a a great resource. With some time now passed since you were here with the van, I’m wondering if you have had any van rust issues? Obviously the chassis are gal, but wondering about other components like suspension, brakes ect if you have had any salt related issues down the track? Thanks
@DASHOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
That’s a very good question and yes I have had some rust issues with accessories I personally fitted to the van. Have had to replace them unfortunately. As far as chassis and suspension, they have been fine

Great vid blog and advice. Do you have advice on AT Tyres for sand like Fraser?
@DASHOffRoad3 жыл бұрын
Any AT tyres would be fine on Fraser 👍

great video! which camp were you at at the start of the video? We have a van but I am finding a lot of conflicting info about where we can take it. My husband thinks we need to take the tent instead.
@DASHOffRoad2 жыл бұрын
If I went again I wouldn’t take the van. There was a fair few bits that have shown signs of rust after parking up on a beach for a week
@tarynmarsall76642 жыл бұрын
@@DASHOffRoad that's great info to know, thankyou. I think we'll be taking the tent for that reason and also because I'm so confused about exactly where we'll actually be able to get our van to. So just out of curiosity, which zone did you have your van on the beach at? many thanks

Hi Dash, love your work mate. I have a bloody Y62 S5 problem after watching your videos. I have a 2019 Ranger Raptor and a 2T Opus OP4 camper. The Raptor is not set up to tow this well. Boss Suspension in Sydney has developed an airbag for the arse end of the Ranger Raptor which will be ready in next few weeks. I also have a vehicle broker offering me a great deal on a S5, Y62. Do I go with airbag rear end on the Raptor, or trade the Raptor in on the new Patrol? What to do?

Do you even have to ask 😂

Did you run the same tyre pressures the whole trip or just lower for inskip ?
@DASHOffRoad3 жыл бұрын
Had it extra low for Inskip. Biped it up to 16-20psi for Fraser

Vid was ok … but would have been more helpful and informative if you had included specifics such as the PSI in specific areas … eg at Inskip; going over the rock bypasses, etc, not just one vague reference to psi…. Also footage of how you approached and dragged your 3 ton van through the bypasses and to your campsite etc..:.
