Wasn’t expecting to sob into my Friday takeaway but here we are 🥺 my 2 boys are 4 years apart. My eldest was 4 when youngest was born and he was born 11weeks early. I went into labour on holiday we had to come home obviously we then spent 2 months in hospital and my eldest just took it all in his stride. Sending photos to the hospital for his brother & my mom took him to a fairy garden where you put a wish on a tree and no prompts he said “I wish for my brother to come home” it’s just amazing what they can cope with at such a young age and they’ve been inseparable ever since! It’s so special to know we’ve given them that. Also we are the same first child angel the second child hates sleep, hates peace and loves violence 😂😂😂 you are an amazing mom so relatable & loved this video ❤

Omg i actually just welled up hearing you talk about George and that he asked you if you were ok 🥹 soo sweet. I have a little boy and your videos have definitely got me through being a first time mum...day in the lifes and weaning videos etc. Helped me immensely! Even in pregnancy, like hospital bag and what to buy etc. Youre my mum guru haha ❤ relate to you a lot, so thank you 😊 i hope to another little one someday so this is very good to know!

Thank you so much for this video! I am currently pregnant with #2, due in July. I’ve basically been 1yr behind you with both of my pregnancies so I discovered your channel when pregnant with my first and have followed your journey religiously ever since. I find myself referring to you as ‘my friend Shan’ when talking to my mum friends about our experiences with little ones, as your honest blogs about your pregnancies and life with your young family have helped me so much, and I always want to share the things I’ve learnt from you with others. This was such a useful video for me, especially as my toddler will be almost exactly the same age as George was when #2 arrives. I’ll definitely be watching it back a few more times ahead of our second little one arriving! I would love the practical hacks video too, please! ❤ Rachael xx

I could write this exact same thing!!! My son, now 3, as a baby and even now so independent, could put him down for a shower or to cook, no fuss. Slept ok, had bottles, boob no issues. Demanding ofc but in comparison to his lil sis...🫠 My daughter is now 21m. So clingy, could never and still not put her down easily, never took bottle, full on tantrums at 6m, she's destructive, constantly on the go. My 1st nb experience was covid lockdown bubble perfect, my 2nd, i felt so sad and was in so much pain for months. I got myself back now, but the first 6m were HARD!!

Thank you for this video, I had a very similar experience to my second baby (also Hallie!). She was born in June and my son was 23 months. My husband worked on oil rigs so when baby turned 4 weeks he left for 3 weeks and I was alone with both babies, your videos at the time being so realistic to how I was feeling helped me through the hardest time of my life! I haven’t related to someone so much as I have to your videos the last 6 months! X

Ahh I love this! I’m so glad that you could relate to my videos at that time, there’s a lot to be said for knowing you’re not going through something alone! It’s the main reason I love this whole KZbin / social media stuff, there’s always someone that just GETS IT. ♥️✨

In my experience establishing breastfeeding was the hardest part during the newborn days. Once established it was a smooth journey until weaning, mine is still a picky eater at 2y 10 months. If there's one thing that has been consistent through all my daughter's phases it's the fact that she's a picky eater. Thanks for keeping it real Shan.

Can’t actually tell you how similar my experience has been! My second was born same day as Hallie and my toddler was 2y6m when his little brother arrived. I can relate so much to what you’ve experienced. We have just started weaning too and he’s getting there but older brother absolute loves food from the get go! Very hard with 2 not going to lie but as you said seeing them together interacting just melts my heart x

I've seen that candle video! I thought it was brilliant too. Thanks for the reminder about the phase thing. I needed to hear that today. Our toddler is going through a pretty challenging phase ATM. You start to think that this is just life now and question all of your parenting decisions. However, things will change, improve, get worse and then better again. 😂 Parenthood is a rollercoaster!

I am a mum of 2 with a very similar age gap, my eldest was 2yr8mo when my youngest was born. They are 4 and a half and 2 now and honestly listening to this has hit the nail on the head on so many points. Particularly the seeing them love each other, I feel the older they get the better this gets and seeing my younger one just looking up to his big sister and wanting to be like her just melts my heart. Also everything is a phase! So accurate!

Great video... spot on! The second xhild also seems to grow up far too fast... they watch and learn from their older sibling so seem to skip milestones and mature so much faster.... amazing but also give all the emosh mum feels!! ❤😢

Brilliant video!!! ❤ spot on. My youngest- my boy was hard work, probably wouldn’t of been if he was my first but my first born - my girl, was an absolute dream because I had all the time in the world. Gets easier with time 💯 as they grow up xxx

Totally relate to the one about how your oldest seems SO big all of a sudden! My oldest was still in nappies when we had our second and i’ll NEVER forget how strange it was changing his nappy for the first time since getting back from the hospital, felt like I was changing a full grown mans nappy 🤣🤣

I just have a 2.5 yr old girl who I still see as my little baby who I do everything for like how you said you felt with George! I can't imagine having a second right now but I found this extremely helpful for when I do. Would love to know your other hacks, tips and tricks! Thanks so much for sharing ❤️

Im currently 39 weeks and the age gap between my toddler and baby will be 2yrs 9.5 montgs roughly, so very similar to you and all very relevant so thank you. I try be realistic about whats to cone but I'm sure I'm also quite naive about what's it foung to be like in the first 3 months. A video with more practical advice that you mentioned would also be grateful! Thank you so much dor sharing and keeping it real but also perky :)

Gosh, the first born growing up quickly is so true! 😭 Like boom! Where did my first baby go and who is this grown up boy! Its been lovely to see my boy and his baby sister relationship grow though. First he disliked her, then came acceptance and now slow and steady he is starting to enjoy her now he can interact with her!

I have 3 children my first born was easy my second born was horrendous due to having severe reflux couldn't get her to drink her bottles she wasn't gaining weight had constant health visitors on My back. My daughter would scream constantly. I would say the first year of her life I was struggling so bad. My 3rd baby he has reflux and he also has a cow milk allergy so that has been difficult but I have really enjoyed the first year of his life.

1st boy loved mat leave so much, was amazing and 2nd baby girl Ive had full blown ppd and it'll take me a while to recover. It will forever make me sad that I 'missed' that newborn loveliness with her. But I love love them both and don't regret anything, in fact I'd probably love another baby if I didn't think my hormones would try to kill me lol. I think we're 2 and done haha. Also ..please tell me what is on your skin ...I need the hydration xx

Thanks for the video Shan and your honestly as always! I remember watching your newborn videos with George and just being amazed by his sleep schedule as my daughter was a terrible sleeper until I sleep trained her! I know you said, don’t get you started on potty training 🤣 but I would love a potty training video / tips!

Aw love this video ❤ my little girl is a couple of months younger than George and I remember watching your vlogs with him as a newborn and thinking wow, you had it NAILED and wondering if I was doing something wrong because my baby didn’t sleep ever 😅 wouldn’t be put down, had reflux, feeding issues etc etc etc. So I’m not gonna lie, seeing that Halle has been a little bit trickier kinda makes me realise it wasn’t me doing anything wrong haha. I’m pregnant now with baby number 2 and hoping maybe I’ll get lucky with a ‘George baby’ 😂 who sleeps!!!

Thanks for your video. I have a toddler. She turns 2 in 2 weeks and would love to grow our family and have a 3 Yr age gap. But I'm worried about how it's all going to go. She was a perfect newborn and infant. Also 9 percentile like George, but slept through the night. Rank all her milk. Didn't need to be rocked. But now I'm worried we've been spoilt by her. The next baby will be such a different experience.

Which ia crazy as I myself am the 4th child and never felt like I didnt have enough attention but still I think about it!
