You can't get 1 MOA because of the way you shoot - I can get less than 1 MOA with 69 grain match king and ~ 1MOA with 55 grain Blitz King - I have done this multiple times at 100m (110 yds) with 5 rounds per group. I agree its not a tack driver, but you can definitely get those groupings if you have good technique. For the record others have found the same, for example Chris Parkin (Chris Parkin Shooting Sports) got 0.752, 0.885 and 0.887 MOA with three different types of factory ammunition (5 rounds per group). I used a bipod as did Chris, no lead sleds or other forms of stability support. Its the Indian not the arrow. Note Chris Parkin used the 16 inch 1:7 version and I used the 20 inch 1:9 version. @PolenarTactical7 ай бұрын
In all other claims i would be sceptical, but i have tested almost everything with my rifle and boiled it down to two reasons for inaccuracy - either the barrel is bad (which is hard to believe from CZ cold hammer forged) or the stock somehow makes it inconsistent. Also you are here at just the right time, in cooperation with Bloke on the range we just issued a 1MADL challenge (1 moa all day long) We would love to see your submission with a CZ600 Trail, even if it's outside regulations (rifle being clamped or lead sled).

@@PolenarTactical I think this rifle is extremely picky about ammo. I have tried a large number of factory loads (including S&B HPBT 77gr, Norma Golden target Match 77 gr, etc.) but the best results were achieved with my own reloads I mentioned abowe - Norma 69 gr GTX bullet (65740-1), 24.2 gr Lovex D073.4 powder (V0 = approx. 860 m/s) using S&B shells. This is my SUB-MOA ammo. It should also be noted that I only shoot with a suppressor - I use an over-barrel Ase Utra Raiden. And scope - Vortex Strike Eagle 3-18x44 EBR-7C FFP MRAD with Seekins Precision 34 mm, height 1.26" (lapped). Interestingly, when I then put a standard S&B 55 gr (or my own 55 gr reloads for plinking) in the rifle, not only is the dispersion around 2 MOA, but the POI is shifted by about 8cm(!!!) at 100m compared to the SUB-MOA ones.

@@BlokeontheRange what bothers me the most is that i cant figure out what exactly makes it less accurate. I would imagine CZ cold hammer forged barrel is top of the line with semi-heavy profile. You'll often get 3-5 rounds clustering just due to randomness in the dispersion. I really appreciate you doing 10 round groups. It's honestly the minimum that starts to show the true accuracy of a system. I think if we wanted to have some kind of real standard, anyone claiming to report any meaningful, mechanical accuracy should be shooting 20 round groups, removing one, and reporting a 95% hit circle. Or you could do 10, remove one and report 90% hit circle. But I'd want to see a few 10 round groups averaged. Weapons and ammo are/can be so accurate now that I think one or two 20 round groups is kind of needed to actually separate them. Only problem is people aren't going to like the fact that *actually* getting under 1 moa dispersion is bit difficult to achieve.

Range conditions were fantastic, without so much as a gentle breeze in any direction. As such, I plopped down on a bench, loaded my first rounds, and started a formal accuracy test. Being that my sample was chambered in .223 Rem., the recoil was extraordinarily mild, even without a muzzle device installed. Directing my attention to ergonomics, I found the AR-pattern grip comfortable and familiar. I liked the idea that if I ever changed my mind, I had thousands of others to choose from, as this aftermarket is incredibly vast. I was also fond of the little compartment on the underside, further emphasizing the utility theme of this package. My initial groups were about what I would expect for a rifle of this nature, but it really shined when it was fed the heavier, 77-grain Federal Match fodder. This makes sense given its fast twist rate of 1:7 inches, which generally causes a .223 barrel to prefer heavier (for the caliber) bullets. Peeking down at my chronograph readout, I did observe slower-than-advertised velocities, but at the end of the day, nothing was below a normal range for the cartridge. Moreover, let’s be honest, how often does .223 Rem. or 7.62x39 mm leave a barrel much longer than 16 inches? Sure, the Trail is short for potential, but it isn’t lacking in its class by any means.

Barrel harmonics, have you tried different weights? But for hunting or defence 2 moa will suffice, but are the point of impact consistent or does it move around from one session to another, for me that could be a bigger issue. Are there any replacement stocks out there, fixed at the back of the frame and made to swing to one of the sides, preferably the left side.

How did you change the trigger from two stage to a single stage trigger?
@PolenarTactical7 ай бұрын
When you take the action out of the chassis you have access to screws that adjust different things on the trigger. I have reduced the pre-travel to zero. So now when i cycle the bolt, the trigger is already on the wall, and when i apply more pressure it fires. I also removed almost all overtravel. Besides the pull weight you can also adjust the actual sear engagement but i would not recommend doing that if you are not a professional. After any adjustments i highly recommend you test the rifle by cycling the bolt (empty chamber) and then trying to hit or slam the rifle at a hard surface - if it fires, something is wrong. Also test the functionality of the safety.

My buddy just sent me a link of pew view giving this a scathingly negative review on insta for this rifle. Looks like he couldn’t get his to cycle at all. I know on my 527 I had to take the bolt guide/lip off and bend it in a bigger arch to allow for smoother cycling. Have you had any issues with bolt catching hanging up or feeding rounds?
@PolenarTactical7 ай бұрын
Which caliber did he have? Mine cycles fine but can have problems when using large AR magazines - if you rest the rifle with force on the magazine, push it too far forward or backwards it will have problems feeding. I actually had 2 jams like that on Lynx Brutality last year where i used this rifle. The other thing is that it has a push ejection so you have to pull the bolt back with a bit of speed. If you do it very slowly, the casing will just fall off the bolt and stay in the action instead of throwing it out

@PolenarTactical7 ай бұрын
For me it's definitely the looks and fun running it 😁 But for other people it could be the collapsible stock that makes it super short, maybe law limitations (Commifornia) or they just prefer to use bolt actions. I could pose the same question for lever-actions

@@PolenarTactical So it is a gimmick like “tactical” lever actions? I don’t want to hate this gun, but discontinuing the CZ 527 has left a bitter taste in my mouth.
@Mitsurugi24247 ай бұрын
@@PolenarTactical You only really get about 4-5 inches over a 16in AR by having that collapsing stock, based on listed specs. I wouldn't trade that for 200% worse groupings/accuracy. I'd still prefer an AR in 300blk was an 8-10in barrel. It will preform really well, since the round was designed for shorter barrels, and still come up as short or shorter than that thing collapsed, weigh less, be semi auto, and have more aftermarket options...and probably cost less too. That being said, you did make it look fun and your technique was on point with fast accurate shooting. Even if it's not practical enough to be something I'd buy, I still very much enjoyed your review and appreciate your reply.

Haha exactly why I didn't drop the $1,000 bucks on it when it came out!! I love the idea of this set-up but there's no way to get high quality accuracy with the trail, it's just a fact!! Lol Like you mentioned tho, you'll hit your target for sure. Just can't dot the "I's" or cross the "T's" Lol
@somebrains54317 ай бұрын
This is a novelty rifle for people that can't own semi autos. It's light, but the stock has the same cheek weld problem as an underfolder AK or the HK it's trying to mimic. If the accuracy suggests heavy for caliber 5.56 and is mag fed, run a red dot on it so you don't notice it shoots worse than a $300 Savage. Frankly a $400 AR would be better.

I, as someone who qualified as a British Army marksman - on two different long arms was easily able to achieve the same. With three different types of ammunition. Instead Polenar tactical chooses to play the man, showing the world who he really is.
