Do you have a Range Rover Velar? What’s the spec that you’ve gone for? 😎

Had an ex demo 2020 D300 HSE R-Dynamic. It was the older 3.0 V6 diesel, not the new inline 6 Ingenium which is the much better engine that I have in my current Range Rover Sport. It was a very high spec with pan roof, air suspension, full leather package and very comfortable. I had no problems at all in 20,000 miles in just over a year. I’d recommend the later models with D300 Ingenium 3.0 6 cylinder as more economical and no major issues reported. My current RR Sport has 50,000 miles and no problems.

A really useful video, as we are looking to buy a Valar and having watched many videos, I found this to be the cleanest opinion based and settle my mind that I need to find and buy a 3.0l petrol HSE R-Dynamic. Our budget is £30k tops, ideally we'd like to spend £25k but for the right car we'd pay what it takes to buy.

Sad to say that I found the test drive of a 24 plate P400e underwhelming. The power delivery was very non-linear, the interior not especially plush and the cabin noise higher than I anticipated. By contrast we recently bought a hybrid Evoque and I am smitten with it. The Velar does look jaw-droppingly gorgeous but it flatters to deceive for me.

My wife had a d180 for 3.5 years and did nearly 90,000 miles never missed a beat. Traded it for a sport and I still see it driving round now. Maybe we got lucky

It seems to me after viewing every car dealers video regarding Land Rover jaguar steer clear of a 2.0 litre ingenium engine and stick to a 3.0 litre engine

I am currently in the market for a new car as I was unlucky and someone decided to crash into my parked car on Christmas Day! I think I find the Range Rover Velar and Sport's the most tempting, but I am really struggling to get past everyone's views on reliability. Do you believe they are all as bad as people say?

Sorry to hear about your previous car being hit! What a pain. The JLR products make up for roughly 50% of my stock range most of the time, if not more. I really enjoy the Range Rover's and I'm aware that they definitely require more of a maintenance than a Honda CR-V - but they provide a driving experience which in my opinion is fantastic and well worth the extra money needed to look after the car. As I mention in my reviews/videos, I'm quite fussy when it comes to the stock as it needs the correct service history & spec etc for me to feel confident and comfortable to sell it. If you decide to go for a Range Rover - I hope you enjoy it!

@condorprestigevehicles It had definitely been an inconvenience. I have been most drawn to the low owner, good history Range Rover Sports, although getting insurance seems to be a little challenging, do you have any advice for looking at RR insurances? Is there a knack to getting slightly more reasonable prices, I live in North East England where car thefts are less prevalent than some areas!
