Thanks for the video. How do you feel about it a few months later? Quality, durability, weather resistance, waterproofing etc. Also how easy is it to take on and off?! We'd be using it for occasional camping trips so would not need it on all the time.

Hi Stephen, thanks for watching the channel! We did about 5000 km with it on the roof. We experienced some pretty heavy rain, hail in northern NSW, strong winds and it went really well. I’m still not keen on the plastic hinges. They feel ‘frail’ for lack of a better word, BUT, they didn’t/haven’t given me any trouble so maybe I’m just being a bit precious. It stayed water tight at all times. Easy getting on and off too. 5-10 minutes tops. It takes a bit longer for the initial set up though.

The plastic hinges degrade over time. It is taking me longer and longer for me to lock the box after two years.

Thanks @akisasaki6661. That has always been a concern of mine since seeing the plastic hinges. Not looking forward to that! Thanks for sharing your experience with the box!

The instructions to fit the hinges were non existent. Thanks for the video.

Thanks Geoff, I know mine came with the hinges already fitted on the bottom half so they probably didn’t feel they had to have any instructions…. I remember trying to figure out why the hinges were fitted two different ways. Hope the video helped though Geoff. Thanks for watching the channel!!

That is a lot of work to assemble for something you pay a a lot of money for.

Thanks @HeartSpaceMee. This true. Sadly it seems more things are going this way. Maybe this was why it was cheaper than most (all) the competitors I could find. It would have been nice to just be able to bolt it onto the car. Thankfully I was able to put it together and it had performed quite well since. Thanks for watching the channel!

@@selfrelianceaustralia166 Yes, thanks for your reply. i'm all for self reliance. Taking back your power and undoing the "learned"/encouraged helplessness that is the determent of today. But in having said that, lets not discard working together and as a community supporting and encouraging each other. Good on you Mr Self Reliance Aus:)
