loved the interview! I came here for Lalo, I'm definitely staying for the bearded dad! I'm fortunate to have started in IT from the beginning and didn't have to go through working in construction. I'd love to go through your video history and looking through what gems I might find there. always like learning something new. thanks for the interesting insight into your beginnings and for the chance to listen to Lalo. always like listening to that voice.

I would encourage you to make a solid plan first. Then, if needed, get a second job to help cover expenses until you get your income back up. But a plan is a must.

Great video, I'm 56 I finished a trade school for Computers, but have not gotten my CompTia A + yet. Was wondering, do I still fill out job applications for I.T or wait till I get my A+?

Start now.. the worst they can say is no.. but you never know when you might be the most qualified person to apply... I got my first job without the a+

That is exactly how i got started... I took a $20k/year pay cut but in 3 years I was making more than i ever had as a Director of Network Operations.

Awesome. Can I ask what was your first tech job? The ones I have found are AV related. Is that a good place to start? I would love to be a Director like you one day. @@TheBeardedITDad

Is there a difference between passionate people that want to get into this industry versus a person who wants to change careers and better provide for the family? I’m hoping to one day my wife to be a stay at home mom and let me bring in the income

I think both are the same... both are passionate and driven to do what ever it takes...
