I'm dogwater at pvp.. And I've been playing since alpha. But since these changes to sword and blocking with sword.; I'm able to hang more now. Even started doing hourglass. I lost the last battle but kept killing skeleton cursed pirates.. I consider that a victory in itself.

Sword - Flintlock has NEVER been not viable, even when quick swapping was a thing. Flintlock is insanely good because people underestimate just how fast the second shot can come out without having to ADS, and the sword is so nice with the ability to phase through enemy pirates and juke them out.

Ngl I’m glad the quick step method was removed. It made the sword redundant in almost every fight with anyone who plays the game. As a sword and blunder/pistol player this update is very welcomed in my book as now my sword skills are even more revered

SoT is a very balanced game because of all of the weapon intricacies, cool downs, and reload times. If you think the game sucks because you can’t spam left click to swing you’re cutlass infinitely, and complain about people with good aim and blame it on hacks, you probably just don’t understand how a balanced PvP game looks. I’m excited to see how people start using the throwing knife and double barrel pistol. More weapon types means more combinations but potential balance fixing issues in the future like they’ve done with the cutlass. Rare also needs to fix some bugs and crashing issues for Microsoft/Xbox platforms.

@@heroman1322 lmao no bro. The sword has a lower skill ceiling and is pretty inconsistent. The best sword users could probably only win 10-3 or 10-4 in a sword only fight against the average double gunner. On the other hand, the best double gunners would consistently beat above average sword lords 10-0 in tdm and maybe 10-1 in a camp wars. Even with the sword having a few different mechanics and strategies, double gunning is much more complex and difficult to pull off. Also, wouldn't there be sword montages if the sword required a lot of skill? There are only like 4 sword montages, all made by Utmost, a comp SoT player. On the other hand, there are hundreds of double gunning montages.

They didn’t fix anything still as broke as ever. Blowing smoke up everyones back side again. The first year the sward dueling was fun. Then broke ever since.

there's a clear difference with the sword in season 10. If you didnt notice that it means you're either very unaware or you are purposely ignoring it to be difficult.

Thanks for the video, I used to be a sword lord, but they completely ruined sword play with the new block detection zone. Any noob can now block any swing as long as they are looking in your general direction, there is no skill involved anymore like positioning, jumping, or circling, you now instead just have to time your hits/blocks right, making it so nobody wants to swing first.

@@jona8953 not when there are no mechanics anymore, then there is no sword play, if skill isn’t involved there is no “good players” any more, just luck or patience.

is there still a ridiculous cool down time after blocking and attacking? because honestly that shits horrible game design. timed blocking would be so much better.
