I have the zr6000rr and the upgraded shocks are great for the bigger bumps. The 4 stroke makes to nose heavy for when you want to play around. 2 strokes are so much lighter and more playful. Enjoy the winter boys!

I love the review and your delivery style guys. You are very relatable. keep it up! I vastly prefer this style over some of your provincial mates that shall go unnamed. One small note though. The only substantial changes to that setup in 2020 was an update to the front (lifted it) and they went to the next gen plastics. But the SRviper LTX has been around since 2014 and other some early fuel mapping issues and weak reverse gear in year one it has been a phenominal YamaCat

135kmh is about right for those conditions. The best I’ve ever done is 156kmh on hard pack lake, I think it might have done more but I was running out of space. These machines pull really hard to 100kmh and kind of fizzle out after that. But that’s perfect for most trail riding. I have a 2017 zr7000 Ltd. Oh, a starting trick from us owners - always wait for the fuel pump to shut off before cranking it over, otherwise you get those hiccups.

I have the same sled as you. I have ditched the Team clutch for a PB80 and it lets the engine rev to 9100rpm. The fastest I've seen on mine, which was verified using my Garmin GPS was 163kph. This was on a freshly groomed trail that runs along the north side of the Timiskaming Regional Airport outside of Earlton On. Like you said, for the conditions he's riding in, his speed is typical. I love my 4 stroke and I'd never go back to a 2 stroke.

Hmm. My 19 850 etec 129 hits 120 on the speedo. Need to gps it. But from all I can gather they are off about 10 mph at that speed. These sleds never top end well. A nytro I ride with can barely hit 90. Decent acceleration though

I’ve never had an 800 2 stroke sled top end less than 101 mph gps. My 05 rev 800 and also my 15 Indy 800 both hit 105 gps in decent conditions. My buddy still has a 15 Indy 800 and my 850 etec walks by up pretty good.

As you mentionned, not the best surface for top speed. On a sled friction (hardpack vs powder) make a huge difference in top speed, on a hardpack surface this thing will do probably around 165-170 km/h per hour. I have a stock Sidewinder (200hp) and it does between 165 to 200 depending on the condition. I like the Matte Black color on this one.

That’s why Yamaha teamed up with arctic cat they needed a good 4 stroke and Yamaha wants to stay in the snowmobile biz so to keep them in price point this is what they did if not then Yamaha will walk away like Sazuki did Yamaha designs rx1 Apex Vector they were not selling anymore and redisign was out of the question so this is what they offer
