A Targa 46 is my dream boat for the Pacific North West. I'm sure it would change if I lived in Florida. Which I think should be another consideration in choosing a boat is where you will be using it and what you plan on doing with it. Presently I have a STABICRAFT 2250 UCWT on order outfitted for my area Haida Gwaii B.C Canada.

Honestly love center consoles because I love hardcore fishing in the Gulf, but the family would really love a cruiser. My daughter toured a ~32' used Searay and wanted to move in.

Good motor but the dealer network is much smaller. Same deal with Honda, except for their smaller tender-sized motors.

A check list is a great idea! I always prep my boat at least 2 days before I go fishing. The night before, I recheck everything. If you rush, that's a recipe for disaster, I guarantee you that! On a good day, I like to go open throttle, it's fun! But on a choppy day, it's always wise to take it slow. That way, you won't start breaking things or worse! My favorite boat is the boat that fits in my garage -:) That said, I could afford it, I would love to keep a pilothouse type of boat in the marina at all times. Such a boat will give the best of both worlds without breaking the bank... Tight lines fellas and see you o the water! -:)

Well I bought a 23 foot Bryant last year replacing a 22 foot Four Winn's. I knew it weighed more but when trying to pull it with my Toyota Highlander it struggled so much more than the old boat. Then it didn't fit on my lift So I was planning on spending Bryant Boat $110,000 Unexpected Costs New Car $68,000 New Lift $18,000 (Shocking Cost) My wife drive our brand new 21 RXP-X 300 onto it's ramp launching it into the lift breaking it, cost unknown. Now I need a new ramp and apparently they have a $56 bumper to stop you from launching into the dock. So all in it's around 200 grand for an upgrade of a single foot. Then again that's the joys of having a the privilege of enjoying the water. I truly wonder who is buying these boats in the first place, my guess is they are company boats or group purchases.

One big consideration is where do you boat? Here in the Midwest non of those boats listed would work for us. Out here we use bass boat and bow riders.

Right now, a single engine center console offshore or hybrid in the 24-26' range: Love the Cobia 262cc. It's a bit of a reach, so maybe the 240cc. Maybe someday a cruiser in the 36-42' range: Love the Back Cove 34O, but if the Cobia is a reach, the BC is a leap.

Uh majority trucks made within like the last 15 years have tow ratings of 10,000lbs. My Tacoma has a tow rating of 6500lbs which I would say would tow any boat that somebody with that style of truck would want. One of my friends just got of their 6.4 power stroke for a new f150 to tow their 31 contender.

my dream center console fishing boat is upward of 30k lbs..... lol don't think there's a pickup that can tow that... we didn't even add the trailer and random gear the boat is packed with...
