Having driven my Atto 3 for over 6 months, I'm very satisfied with it. The tyres seem fine - if you drive 'appropriately' when wet. I've adjusted the seat to achieve full comfort without my head touching the 'headrest'. I suggest you turn up the regenerative braking from "Standard" to "High", and you'll need to use the brakes less when going downhill. Over 7 years of driving EVs, the Atto 3 does everything I want (and more) in a car.

Is it possible to have the 1 pedal drive with this car when brake is on the high regen mode? I mean would it fully stop?
@remakeit2628
@remakeit2628 Жыл бұрын
@@NunoAparicio No. The Atto 3 is like driving an ICEV in terms of braking, except that the regen slows it faster. However, when applying the brakes on an Atto 3 the regen immediately kicks in, and quite strongly if you are braking harder.

Spot on - especially the comment about feeling the wipers through the brake pedal. While this happens on other makes of car, it is especially pronounced on the Atto3. On the tyres, I believe the more recent deliveries of the car to Australia and NZ have seen the Batman tyres replaced with Continentals, which will be much better.

I've had my Atto 3 since October 2022. I really love the car after having 2 Subaru, and I didn't think I would ever buy anything that wasn't a Subaru. I find the seats super comfortable, and I had a few guests over the weekend who were really amazed with the comfort in the back seats. I don't love the Batman tyres but I think I'll wait until they're buggered to replace them. Someone mentioned slow charging in your comments. Until the weekend I had only ever used the granny charger, but I tried a commercial fast charger a few days ago and it went from 66 to 100% in the time it took for me to grab a few things at the supermarket. It was good to check my phone app and see where the battery was at while I shopped. Like you though, I hate the Collision Warning System and it irks me that I can't turn it off permanently. I don't understand why you can only turn it off for the current ignition cycle.

The next day after taking delivery of my Atto 3 was to change my tyres to Continental Ecocontact 5 XL tyres same size as currently fitted to your Atto 3, these Continental Ecocontact 5 XL tyres are specifically designed for Evs. They were $1,000 for 4 tyres, including fitting and balancing, and handled extremely well in both wet and dry conditions. Not feeling the wiper blade motor in my Atto 3. That beeping sound is the proximity warning when there is a car parked on the side of the road, mine goes off when it detects the first car only not several parked along the road one behind the other. I have my regenerative braking set to the strongest setting but drive in eco mode.

Good review and all fair comments. I find my seats are fine and comfortable for me. The forward collision warning system is very sensitive. When I drive home, I have to turn right at a roundabout and every time after I’ve completed the right turn and exit the roundabout, the system picks up the cars parked on the left hand side of the road and beeps at me.

Here are the list i wanna know from your experiences! 1. How you feel about the AC? Cos not sure if the AC are the same made as Petrolium car. Like for example when driving petrolium car to able to run solid AC you must have an engine turns on! If the engine is off and only power on to run the AC it gotten weak and you feel sticky moist coming out from the AC to your face. 2. Home self power charging cable eperience. Is it convenient or safety to leave it be when you go sleep? Will it be stolen? Will it be damaging your car plugging so many times in a day? Is it water proof safe during heavy rain outside while charging? 3. Inside door opening handle eperience? Comfortable easy? 4. Any weird sound from suspension shock? The feeling comfort from suspension on bumped and rusted road? 5. Tyres experience that you have mentioned during the rains when you go round about. Well from my experience if it car's fropnt wheel drive then the tyre for the front wheel drive is important. I would recommended Bridgestone Potenza. good grips on rains and less noises plus longevity last me 75000KM for the front and rear 80000KM. 6. From the back seat folding down flat. Can you fit your whole body at the back sleeping? How much length you get if you fold down the back seat chairs? 7. Headlight experience at night. Low and High light quality.

Hi Ed! I have an Atto 3 on order and really enjoyed your video - a fair assessment. The brake and wiper relationship could be the vehicle applying the brakes lightly in the wet to dry them. Quite a few modern vehicles do this now and if you notice it once - you can't stop noticing it. It is a good safety feature though.

@@juicdgarage Yes this car has this function to dry wet brake disks when wipers used and this documented in owner manual, and if you mention vibration this might be heat pump motor - from time to time it powered on to cool down traction battery , and when you turn it to max heat or cooll it may work loud enogh and with light vibration, same happens when you using DC charging station to charge car.

Your tyres should not be slipping at those glacial slow speeds - clearly those tyres are rubbish. Put on some Michelin Pilot Sport5 tyres (best wet grip and longest lasting in the biz) and you wont look back. The MG4 will have decent Continental tyres fitted here in Oz, and the Atto3 sold in Europe is also supplied with Continental tyres.
@mondotv4216
@mondotv4216 Жыл бұрын
The tyres are terrible in the wet. I'm a careful driver so I can get away with it but simple things like accelerating up hill from a stop lightly in the wet and the tyres will slip before the traction control steps in. This is in normal mode. There are 4 things an EV tyre needs to do well over and above all the things a "normal" tyre has to do. 1. They need to have stiffer side walls to compensate for the additional weight of the battery (The Atto 3 is about 1750kg or about 500kg heavier than an ICE compact SUV). 2. They need to be lighter and have a more stable contact area to reduce sidewall deformity during cornering and keep a flatter contact patch on the road reducing rolling resistance. 3. They need to have better grip to make up for the instant torque of the electric motor. 4. They need to have better sound deadening to reduce road noise. The Batman tyres fail 2 and 3 and although I haven't had an issue slipping in roundabouts you certainly don't have the confidence you could accelerate out of an emergency situation. The opposite is true in the Tesla which has Michelin Pilot Sport 4s on it. I think it would be overkill to put a performance tyre like that on the Atto 3 but all the major brands make decent EV tyres. Atto 3 went with Goodyear in Europe but I like the Hankook EV tyres. Or the Michelin Primacy E's. Any of those would work but do your research first before buying any new tyres.

Tyres is an interesting point, here in the UK the Atto3 is supplied with Continental tyres. I believe the dealers are advised to change them from original fit to contis here and from my driving background including some test driving there is never enough emphasis put on the difference tyres truly make even amongst what are thought as good brands can be several meters further to stop which is difference between a near miss and a considerable impact! The manufacturers clearly believe these tyres have a good compatibility here so maybe worth considering as a change

Yes, I too now drive in SPORT mode 99% of the time as once you get used to the "sensitivity" of the accelerator and brake pedals (took about 2 weeks) it's the safer option. I also get almost the same economy (14.5kWh/100km) as when I was in eco mode. Maybe people who do very little highway driving might get better economy, but as that's over 400km on a full charge, I am ok with it. Like you, I also turned off audible warnings, but there is one very narrow blind corner that I travel along that ALWAYS sets it off, and I doubt a software upgrade would change it. As to the pedestrian alert at slow speed, I don't mind it because travelling in undercover car parks - as I did at Ikea over the weekend - it prevents people walking out suddenly. Maybe an ability to turn it off should be an option for people who think it's annoying. As to the Batman tyres, they are certainly basic and won't do well under aggressive driving. However, after 4 months driving with them on, I had to push the car beyond my normal driving mode to get wheel slip. So I won't bother changing over until they wear out. As to Ed's speeding problem, try using the cruise control setting. I use it almost religiously in 50 and 60kph zones because the Atto 3 does not "feel" like its going fast. Also, in highway driving the adaptive cruise control works extremely well. The Atto 3 is not perfect, but it's the best car I have owned in my 50 years of driving.

No rain sensing rain wipers for a car costing over 50k in 2023. Warranty quirks That seat position was very uncomfortable during a few minutes of test drive. I might have to buy hello kitty neck support cushions if I bought the car.

Hello which color is the best? white or grey?
@juicdgarage

Both I like. I chose white because it's a free option (in Australia) and it's not actually white - it's kind of an off white pearl silver which is quite unique

Fit Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres straight away. Do not hesitate. At those incredibly slow speeds, your car should not be loosing traction. Those Batman tyres are clearly rubbish. Sure, it is a $1500 hit to fit 4 new PS5 tyres, but, tyres are the number one most important thing on your car. Rubbish tyres = rubbish car. The Michelin PS5 tyres are best in the biz for wet driving, and also have a long life with a treadwear rating of 340, long lasting.

These are the exact issues im experiencing after driving the BYD Atto3, which im actually considering it -seat headrest too firm and upright -grip issue with the batman tires -vibration at the brake pedal while using the wiper -wind noise after 100kmh -clicking noise on and off the accelerator and brake pedal Rented it for 4 days and these issues quite annoys me...but otherwise, overall is a good, comfortable, spacious, value for money EV

The Atto 3 is currently pre-order in the UK, the first deliveries are expected by end March 23. EU regulations and consumer rights apply to all EU countries uniformly, and it is currently sold in 6 EU countries. This particular product score 5-stars on NCAP safety ratings, better than say the BMW i4, VW Touran, Honda HR-V, Peugot 308, Ford Puma.....

Hello you have a speedo use your eyes you should not be using sounds to judge your speed who taught you to drive. Clearly you have not been taught to drive a car properly sorry but if you cannot use your sensor or vision to judge your driving there is something very wrong how who you drive in a country with average speed cameras on every road if you cannot concentrate and drive.
