Ross I am seriously considering one of these units. Do you have any buyers remorse? The Woodmaxx and Woodland Mill units are rated for 8” and are cheaper than the 3.5” rated Wallenstein.

Hello, thanks for reaching out. I have no remorse whatsoever. I am so happy with how well the Wallenstein BX36s works. I like how simple it is. With only the spinning cutting wheel there is not much that will go wrong. My biggest fear was the lack of mechanical feeder to pull branches inward, but they worked magic with the chute angle because this thing has no issues pulling 20 foot branches and twigs all by itself. It's perfectly sized for the Kubota BX23s, and exactly for the type of wood on my property. Let me know if there is anything more specific you'd like to know, I'd be happy to help out.

I just bought the same chipper. The pto shaft is too long. The tractor end has a quick connect collar. The chipper end of the shaft doesn't have the quick connect collar. Do you know how to remove the shaft from the chipper?
@RossOnTheLand
@RossOnTheLand Жыл бұрын
Hello, there should be a small press pin on the side of the shaft to remove it from the chipper. Also you can slide the PTO shaft apart in its center to make to lighter and easier to maneuver. And lastly, on the chipper there is an oval shaped access hole that you are supposed to use to grease the bearing, and I often use that to look through to undo the PTO from the chipper. I know I've shown it in a few videos but they'll be like finding a needle in a haystack Let me know if you'd like more info, I can even do a short video of it if that would help.

@@RossOnTheLand thanks for taking the time to reply. I sort of remember finding an area that would push in but it didn't seem to release the shaft. It's a little too dark to try again tonight but I'll try again in the morning. I would really appreciate a video demonstration or any advice you can offer. Thanks again, Ross. 🙂

How's she goin'? Don't know how I missed this video Ross!!! Man the Wallenstein is a beast. It was some clogged up with shavings though eh!!! But it handled that big stick pretty good. It was pretty big and it chewed through almost all of it. And it didn't even blink with all those evergreens!! Great attachment. Thanks for sharing and take care!!!

Thanks Mike. It did get plugged because I didn't have the rpms up high enough. If I had had them up, it wouldn't have clogged. I'm very impressed with how it handled the evergreen. Yes. Thanks for watching, have a good weekend

They say not to recommend cedar sawdust or shavings in the garden, and I don’t think it’s good for chickens either. You can’t use cedar on makeshift outback, toilet 5 gallon pail for spreading on top. The one cup of shavings you can use can be anything but cedar. But it’s great around a mulch bed flowers or wherever.Smells nice by the house for mulching trees, shrub beds.

That's good to know. Thank you. We use mulch mainly for the woodchip road, and most of these trees are dead ash. Have a great week.

Hello, glad I could help. I deal with B&T McFarlane. They have been extremely helpful. Ask for Bruce Hayter in sales, he's great, or Jack McFarlane. It's a family run business and Jack is very knowledgeable. I didn't think I wanted the shredder but thinking back I should have gotten that option. Nice to meet a local supporter. Have a great week ahead and let me know if there is anything else I can help with. I have a full playlist of chipper vids available as well. Thank you.

Do you think the Kubota BX1880 would run this chipper?
@RossOnTheLand
@RossOnTheLand 2 жыл бұрын
Hello, from what I can see on Wallenstein's website their requirements for the 3.5" capacity is 12 HP-30 HP required, PTO, Cat I, 3 PTH From what I can see on the 1880 this should in theory work. But you may want to contact your Kubota dealer, and also Wallenstein to verify. Even if it's under powered, it would still work but may clog or struggle with thicker hard wood logs.... Thanks for watching, and let me know if you require any more information.

I havent had any chipper clogging issues yet, but i would favor the easy access opening of the Wallenstein over the design on my woodmaxx. I cant remember if you had a second set of knives for this but i would recommend having two sets to rotate one out to be sharpened when needed and the other to keep you working.

This is probably the best video on KZbin demonstrating this Wallenstein wood chipper. Perfectly shows how it works plus several troubleshooting issues with resolutions. A lot of people have told me that not having an auto-feed is a major issue but you clearly show in your videos that doesn't hamper the wood chipping and it has a type of auto-feed using gravity and the design of the product. Amazing video Ross, I am convinced to get one for my BX 2680 now. Absolutely incredible!!!
@RossOnTheLand
@RossOnTheLand 2 жыл бұрын
I was amazed at how well this design worked without auto feed! I have no issues with it pulling in the entire log or brush. I am not sure if others use the same cutter design as Wallenstein does but as you can see, it works great without the complexity.

@RossOnTheLand
@RossOnTheLand 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching, and noticing the ammo box. I do not have one specifically about the toolbox, but I will definitely film one this week for you. It uses the existing holes through the ROPS, using U bolts that drilled through the ammo box. I welded a steel frame to the back of the box to give it more rigidity, and am able to mount it inside or outside depending if I needed more clearance when plowing in winter, or space to sit in the backhoe's seat.
