Idk man, I wonder sometimes if we as black folks are still living in the past. Our hair screams coordinated chaos and we still try to get every strand going in the same direction. My hair is so weird right now with so many pieces of different lengths from trying to detangle to the point where I can run my fingers or a comb through my hair easily and even then it's still not good enough because the second I let go of the ends they just poof up. And it takes so long. Even with products with slip. Half of me want to cuss my mom out for giving me such thick hair but the other half remembers when I was stressed and my hair was thinning. These days I just finger detangle and get it about 75 - 85 percent detangled and that's a wrap. We gotta listen to our hair. It really likes to not have us touching it all the time for a lot of us. Just water it ( whatever your water is) and just keep it twisted or braided or whatever.

Every hair type has a state of unkempt, this grooming habit is not just relegated to humans of African descent. Just thinking logically supports this. Straighter hair is more predisposed to becoming greasy as contrasted to curlier because dry and rough

I've learned that for me personally any type of comb or brush that flexes like that always get's stuck in my hair or doesn't detangle to the scalp. I use picks, funny enough, to detangle my hair. Not the metal ones but the plastic ones, those work the best

Is this the only detangler brush that African American men can use for their 4C low porosity hair? Or are there other ones such as the crave I think it’s called it’s flat looking I haven’t used this one yet but I currently have the one you have in the video the black one. Because my hair is shorter currently I wanted to find a smaller detangler brush like the flat ones by crave but not sure will this work on my 4C African American hair. If anyone can comment who may know I would truly appreciate it.

Others also use a tangle teaser, but if you have very short hair, you can try an afro comb(that's what I used before, I dunno what other countries call it) or a wide tooth comb. They worked for me.

@@mustbeice yes no matter how gentle we are with our hair, it just loves breaking off so just imagine the DAMAGE and breakage a comb can cause. So GENTLE finger detangling is GOAT 🐐. .
