On my 2012 Boss 302, the only mods I've done are Ford Racing brake ducts, pads, fluids and I've removed the side exhaust baffles.

Glad you kept it. I have a 2012 Stang with quite a few mods and I will never get rid of her. It’s garage kept and I only drive it a few times a month to keep everything working. I’ll always be a s197 guy, end of story!

@@JacobRDoty for example, if one wanted to start force induction..what all needs to be changed internally like oil pump gears etc. what kind of supporting mods are needed if you wanted to just stick with car build just meant for the strip including some nice sticky tires. Many people disregard the importance of suspension mods to really make the car grip and handle correctly. All that power but no grip gets you no where. Also the importance of installing an oil cooler like from mishimoto. Topics like this would be interesting to talk about 😀

As a person who was Full send with full bolt-ins, tune, and aggressive suspension it feels good to be back to OEM. I do miss the extra power since I had 500hp at the crank but man I enjoy the stock ride quality and no engine surging during idle.

Awesome to see this car go into a direction I’d like to take my Shelby into. My Shelby a OEM car, everything I’ve done I made sure it looked “factory”. I wanted the best version of the Shelby that I believe ford should’ve done. But as times progressed and racing on streets is no longer appealing to me. The direction to have a dedicated road course / track car has been the vision now.

I'm definitely full send. 14 gt with an Aluminator, VMP Gen3r, airlift 3p, whiteline and bmr suspension, full 3 inch exhaust, rear seat delete, harness and harness bar with recaros. Carbon fiber inside and under the hood

Not to contradict, but you did, or you do have a 'perfect' car. It is in the name. Grand Tour. Make it a "Super Grand Touring" Car... which it could be argued it is. Long fun road-trip, check (maybe the whipple-whine would be too much), super fun daily, check, show car / sema car, check. Take it to any track and have fun, drag... fun. Think Nurburg in the morning, then drive to the swiss or italian alps, and then have fun on a glue covered straight line etc. A super grand touring car is just that, an exceptional (super) jack of all trades... it does not need to be a MASTER of one. :) This is why I have followed you your years. Extreme Performance Daily Driver.

Coming from the perspective of an old track day weekend warrior, you may want to consider what class you want to compete in if you're interested in track / autocross / whatever competition. Depending on what car you have, it may be the most competitive in the street stock class, and as soon as you slap on an exhaust it loses its competitive advantage. Just something to keep in mind. My advice would be keep the car stock until you know what exactly you want to do with the car.

Unless you’re insane just make your car look good to your taste and sound good. I’ve gone built motor/trans boosted 700+whp for the second time and it’s honestly not worth it. Had the most fun out of any car in a 2007 gt 5sp with hotrod cams and basic bolt ons. 330whp but it was an absolute riot on the street. It gets to the point where too much takes the fun out of it. You’d think I’d have learned the first time.
