when shooting with XAVCS for some strange reason, sony don’t allow 30fps so you’d have to shoot XAVC for that!

Hey JC. Do you think a CFe 320GB card is enough for a day of shooting with the XAVC S-I 4K? I mostly shoot 25fps but i also use a fair amount of slowmotion 50/60/120fps. A day of shooting for me is approx. 1-3 hrs of footage with slowmotion included. I can’t decide on wether i should order a 320GB or 640GB card. 320GB is already expensive but the 640GB 🤯 GOD DAMN.

It's hard to say without testing tbh, I'd test with just a 320GB first because you could also record XAVC S-I 4K onto a SD card as a backup if you need more footage, of course you can't do any slow motion but that's a safer way to test to really know yourself.

hmm so i did a quality test on fx30 and on youtube it seems the same all well😂 i was about to get v90 but v60 will do the job just fine on my 2018 MacBook pro

That may potentially be because your screen on your laptop can’t play 60fps? Try it out with a lower fps and see if that works

I have mine in NTSC mode instead of PAL but I have no issue in filing 120p in a normal filming mode. There's the option in S&Q but I don't have to choose that method.

i dont even like the hard compressed files, so anyway its best to go with xavcs-I when memory isnt the issue right? i even considered to go with prores via my atomos but im not sure, just upgraded my computer and can handle all files pretty easy now, before building the new pc i was only able to handle prores lol edit: i mean you literally answered my question later in the video^^

Any PC with a standard Nvidia card and/or an Intel processor will edit H264 and H265 smoothly... The difference between I and S is not just "how much it's compressed", it's a different type of compression. I'm a lot of situations S will give you better quality than I because of this.

I have to disagree with you regarding the quality of XAVC(S)-I. Looking at the magnifying glass, it does not have the best quality. Whether you zoom so close that you can see the quality deficit is another topic and for most XAVC(S) I should have left a sufficiently good one, but it is not the best codec when it comes to pure quality.
