Appreciated your honest review knowing that you had a Jayco previously and purchased another one.

Nice van. We have a 2021 Journey OB (17.55.9). Have done about 35k kms in the past 18 months including Oodnadatta track and other remote locations. Have had no major issues. Our suspension is the JTech with shock absorbers. Intend to upgrade to 19ft All Terrain within the next year or so. It will be our 3rd Jayco. Enjoy your Jayco.

Just a tip speaking from experience , put it over a weigh bridge and check if your tare corresponds with Jayco’s .

The Jayco is a great van for the money and their chassis and suspension is fine for most conditions. Many other brands are grossly overpriced but marginally better in off road ability. We had a Silverline and it was great, we’ll buy another next year. I have researched other ‘very expensive’ brands and their customer back up service and warranty compliance is seriously questionable. I’ll stick with Jayco, I think they’re cheaper because their production costs are better streamlined and efficient, not cheaper because they’re inferior.

Hi mate great video and congrats on the new van! Just to note Jayco do transfer warranty. I bought my Crosstrak only 2mths old 2nd hand and after a quick call to factory they had transferred warranty and suggested a centre to get some small things fixed under it. I applaud Jayco as their warranty support has being second to none for us and for that reason alone I'll repurchase a Jayco

We’ll done, I did not know that

yep they transfer the remainder of the full 2 year bumper to bumper, but for some reason not the 5 year structural. My strategy if we keep our 2021 Expanda longer is to get issues such as the floor noted on the van and hopefully if anything major a few years later they will warrant it.

Hi Dave, the JAYCO CAREFREE awning is also Bluetooth, get the carefree app and use your phone. Great in night when wind gets up. The reason they are light is walls are 16mm 3ply but be careful how you hang hooks glue and screw them. The density of ply isn’t great. You tell JAYCO vans when your in them, 1990 Devore colours. But great value for price.😊

Hi Dave when i was in Melbourne waiting for our new van. Victorians i spoke to called Jayco Junko. After owning a Jayko pop top i can say one rhing they have no idea about 12 volt wiring useless. Enjoy

Thanks for the information, I agree that JAYCO are good value for money. We are onto our second Jayco, a Starcraft 19-3 Bushpack. Adequate for what we want to do. JAYCO QC seems to be non existent but in our experience with them they do fix things without argument. However it does pay to carry some basic tools and larger screws to tighten things up. I found your video interesting so will subscribe.

The Sphere wifi unit in the cupboard can take a sim and connect to the internet and then you can connect your laptop/tablets. I would suggest to get some stick on tiles or 3mm perspex and fit to the wall on the left of the cooktop to stop fat stains on the wall paper. There is a very good water saver for the instant HWS called the Enviro Water Saver that fits into the hot water line between the HWS and the furtherest hot tap, then has a bypass back to a tank. When you turn on the furthest hot tap the cold water will bypass to the tank until the hot water arrives then opens the line to the tap. I installed one and saved over 20L of water over 7 days of free camping.

Jayco has improved leaps and bounds, our 1997 is still useable but you cannot put bugger all in the thing or you have weight issues. Also I agree dusty is someone who should be in more of your trips.

I got an anxiety watching your awning flapping around 😂. I use the carefree brand leg kit to hold it down. Manual awning much stronger but prefer the electric

We are on our second Jayco, got a 2022 16ft Journey Outback and really happy with it. They are fit for purpose so don’t expect to drag them across the Gibb river road without some issues. If you are making 000’s more vans than your competitors it stands to reason you’ll hear about more issues.

Great review from an experienced Jayco owner They are great value it’s hard to go past them That said there seems to be 2 Jayco Camps those that hate them and those that don’t You made a good point about the weight of a full off road suspension, personally I would not take a Chinese Van off road as that’s where all the issues start
@jarrod16872 жыл бұрын
Mdc are Chinese and they are built better then the aussie made vans. Chinese are better manufacturers than Australia.

Good review Dave, you’ll like the fridge and the gas heater is great, I have the same in my Groundbreaker. The sphere wifi is great, just get a SIM card for data and put in and then your set for wifi. The electric awning looks good Can you connect an annex to the electric awning?.overall mate nice van. Enjoy.
@zharkleroux3872 жыл бұрын
Sphere “spider” is wifi. You need to insert your own sim card. It will then act as your personal network for the van.
@Macca_75 Жыл бұрын
All Terrain are very much focussed on "sealing" to prevent dust ingress. Hence the reduction in windows (front), less skylight, not 3 way (so you don't need to vent the back of the fridge), etc. Still great value for money.
@darreneveritt92142 жыл бұрын
We have 22.68-3 same fridge bloody love it. Also you mentioned 240v usb chargers at bed. Ours are the same and run 12 volt for usb and 240 for power. Yours should be the same. Test by plugging into USB whilst mains is disconnected.

Hey Dave - the overhead LED reading lights on the flexible arm above your main bed can be swapped for identical units with powered USB ports. I did the same to mine.

Yep quality lacking on some aspects with Jayco for sure, but the warranty support is there to sort it out. Surprised your suspension looks same as my 2021 Expand Outback, so don't know what the "all terrain" part is about... I would have thought at least 2 shockies per wheel?

You are a bit of a wringer- you are like a little kid - you want this, you want that, you want everything, you want, want, want, want. Praise the Lord for what you have and be grateful for want the Lord gives you. The Lord only keeps a very limited number of Jayco off-road caravans in stock.
