So many B.W.C.A. memories, many trips from Sawbill. Lady lakes chain, finding the dolman, finding the crashed plane, great fishing, best of times! The bugs are the worst, though if you go in the summer...head-nets and lots of bug spray make it tolerable. We found it best to go in September, right after Labor Day.

Looks like I'm not the only one feeling the nostalgia with BWCA permits opening. Did you get the ones you wanted? Where are your backpacking plans? I'm planning a SHT hike with a Canadian friend this summer.

Yes, I was hitting refresh over and over on Wednesday. It was crazy and stressful for a while there, as permits were disappearing before my eyes. Grabbed two permits for planned trips, and another for a potential trip.

Same here! I barely got my permit for Clearwater Lake in early September, while trying to get a permit for an earlier trip in August. This video is great! Can't wait for the BWCA!!!
