I think we really need to give some time for the system, because at least in the BR server there are less then 300 master tier players, last split it had around 6 - 7 thousand, so the ripple effect of it should extend to diamond and emerald players, at least until chall, gm and master repopulate again, and at the rate that it's going it will certainly take some time, so the mmr of most players will be most likely on point. I finished last split at GM around rank 700, and now I'm masters around rank 200, I don't feel like a challenger player, and the quality of the matches I'm playing clearly decreased due to diamond 1 players randomly facing challenger pro players, so yeah, at least for now it's quite messed up, we can just wait and see.

I kept getting people straight running it in top lane and ended up straight losing games. Other games every lane just steamrolled the enemy lanes and we won in 20 minutes. There's just been no inbetween. Diamond 3, now struggling to escape plat lmao

It's almost every single game when my toplaner or jungler (or both) are 0/6 by the 10 minutes of the game and it's pretty much done, the skill diff is all over the place and a lot of games are just unwinnable at this point. It was always the case since i am not a high elo player but in this split it's just unreal how big of a scale it is... Thanks for this video Coach. Excellent video curtis honestly this is all stuff we needed to hear right now. This split has certainly been a wake up call. I ended masters 100 lp last split and was definitely starting to feel proud of the level I was playing at, but suddenly getting thrown in against 1000 lp players in mid diamond, getting stomped in lane has been rough on my mental. Even got put against Pobelter. Trying to keep my mental straight and keep the focus on learning. Your video made me feel a lot more at ease about the state of things, thank you!

Honestly I think bronze is the way it is and probably iron and silver too because of smurfs... And it goes both ways... Sometimes they ruin games because they make it impossible to carry because your teammates aren't good enough to play around them... And other times I think they will intentionally sabotage a game just to f*** with lower ELO players and talk s*** to them about being hard stuck.

As someone who works a full time job and can only play maybe 8 games a day sometimes only 5 I pride myself in doing the best I can with the bit that I can do and reaching emerald split 1 and 2 just to be reset to gold I did everything you said in this video I haven’t wanted to queue ranked at all and feel mentally defeated.. Thank you, this video feels very relieving for me. I've peaked d2 and settled between plat and low diamond for many years now, I used to be able to just breeze through games up until I neared plat. Imo it's the way it should be, when in low elo, get queued against low elos, the faster you stomp and win against them the faster you gain LP and leave low elo so they can then play in peace and don't have to be stomped by higher skill level players who persist in low elo and stick around. After around 3-4 years of just playing normals and arams I finally went back to ranked this split and I just can't believe how hard silver 4 is being rn, these don't feel like the same silver players I'm used to getting in normals and on past seasons when I played ranked. Bear in mind that despite me having taken a break from rankeds doesn't mean I somehow magically lost all my skill, especially with Irelia who's been my go-to otp main since 2012 and after her rework and I spam her even in normals. Yet despite me retaining most if not all of my game knowledge and mechanical skills, it just feels so much harder to win nowadays. It's actually demoralizing, I think I've played league for enough years that I can discern on average when someone's truly a silver player and when they're not. And most players I find aren't actually silvers, they're plats and low emeralds that are currently ranked silver, at least from what I see when I look up their opgg's. Trying to stomp similar skill level players while simultaneously dealing with a handful of actual low elos in the games being essentially deadweight and being multiple ranks below your normal rank makes for a complete circus. I'm not trying to say I'm perfect, I won't win lane and stomp everytime, especially not against players of a similar skill level, but something about the way things are now just feels fundamentally broken. At least my LP gain/lose values aren't that bad, I'm winning 30+ LP and losing like 13-15LP, but that doesn't matter much when winning feels like a coinflip and sometimes I end up ending the day at around the same LP I started. People say "oh you're just bad now, if you're stuck on silver then you're a silver player" and while I do agree with "if you're stuck at x rank you likely belong in x rank", is it really silver if I'm playing against players who were plat and emerald last split or last year? Playing Irelia mid instead of top did help win more often lately because on midlane at least you're not countered by 85% of the meta picks so you can get good matchups consistently, but despite that the issues I mentioned are still prevalent

As a stuck Iron player, this was uplifting to hear. Split 2 actually felt like for the first time I was climbing and not just getting spit on. Unfortunately that changed in split 3 and I got crushed down to the bottom again. It is annoying that now the games are full of people that think they know higher level tactics, but then get frustrated when most of their team doesn't immediately follow them. However, it is nice to know that what I was doing was mostly working and I dont need to suddenly change something to try to conquer this new mess. Would love to get out of iron, but the matchmaking really doesn't accommodate that.

Always appreciate the quality content and grounded mindset Curtis, one of my bigger struggles is speaking with friends who just want to blame balance or teammates rather than examining their own gameplay a lot seem to more enjoy raging about things out of their control more than focussing on their own inconsistencies in their own play i.e. being coinflippy and then just lashing out at teammates when them solo rnging the entire game goes poorly. That being said admittedly with what a class system the league community imposes on it's self with the constantly shifting goalpost of "if you aren't X rank you aren't human" besides being demeaning I myself haven't been able to shake out of the habit of calling myself an X peak player, and constantly saying oh my current rank isn't my actual rank and I know it's something I myself have to work at to earn that rank again, because the more I say I belong at my peak the more I know I keep myself from being there.

I can definitely understand where your friends are coming from. I believe now more then ever, it's incredibly important to REALLY wrap your head around the importance of a process. League is getting HARDER and HARDER, the competition is fiercer, their is an abundance of educational content/coaching so the player base is evolving, Riot is updating/altering the game VERY frequently, this is not even including the adjustments made to the ranked system. It almost feels like for years people were able to get away with casually playing solo queue and a lack of a process/approach to learning, but nowadays the average player simply won't be able to mentally handle the solo queue experience without one.

Thank you Curtis for sharing this. Thanks to your Videos and content I finished in low master Last Split for the First time peeking at around 120lp. I took a bit of a break After i secured my rank and came back exited for the new split. On all of my 3 Accounts which were around the same elo I had a horrible start going 1-7 in my First 8 Games. The Games that I Played were super onesided I would either end the Game with a 13-1 Score or get absolutely blasted with 0-5 and have no Chance at all getting solokilled in Lane multiple times. I guess some of this must come from me Not playing Regularly After reaching my rank but it felt really Bad losing to people in low Diamond all of a sudden. Now that I know about this I dont feel so Bad anymore even tho it sucks having to climb all the way back up and beyond to reach my Former Rank. This kind of stuff is the main reason why I hate solo queue so much. I get really emotionally tied to my rank so if I place significantly below my peak and I don't have a good win rate, I lose SO MUCH confidence in myself and feel as though I'm just a fraud who didn't deserve my peak. And I know Emerald 3 isn't super high or anything but I was happy with where I made it and felt like I could even get higher with more time. But going in to a new split and getting placed in low plat where the games are really hard feels really fucking bad. Confidence is completely shot and seeing how many games I need to win to get back to where I was on my climb makes me just not want to play solo queue at all. Which sucks because when I was playing in Emerald 3 it was the most fun and the game quality felt a lot better.

Had to dump my highest mastery champ myself and feel awful about it. It's unplayable and it's entirely due to riot sniffing pro players' farts (projail). My 2nd highest mastery in the same role is 100k lower or some shit, and I don't like to play it. Nothing feels good. I don't know what to do, everything feels horrible, the game feels unbalanced and I'm sick of the constant game-warping changes every few weeks. It's one thing to have nerfs and buffs every 2 weeks (and big changes every few months), but this is unbearable. It's literally a new game system, new item costs, new damage and farming breakpoints, new game pace every few weeks. I can't stand it anymore and I don't know how people can deal with this breakneck speed, no matter how much I like the game I can't make myself. So fine, I'm taking this break, but at the same time I know what little muscle memory I had is eroding... on top of knowing I have to START OVER with a new champ. So I retreated into my own head to the point where I can only play bots and ARAM now. I don't even like ARAM, I wanna play my main... I hate this situation with my whole being

Good video and I think a lot of people needed this. Only critique is that winrate across all players is zero sum. Yes, everyone's rank started lower and this has a mental effect. Yes, LP gains are lower so it feels slower to climb, which also has a mental effect. But for every player that is 10-20 there should be a player who is 20-10. For every player that is crippled by a terrible winrate, there should be a player who is over the moon with their positive winrate.

I found this video because my frustration about unwinable games despite decent play for myself just boiled over. I am somewhat casual player who reach Gold every split and then just chill in other modes. This split I am stuck in bronze/silver and whenever I am stomped and check OPgg enemy team have very skilled players with high winrates and dominant performances. I main ADC. My pool is Jhin, Samira, MF, in that order. I reached Emerald 4 last split and stopped grinding ranked after that. I feel exactly what Curt was saying in this video. I’m playing the same incorporating fundamental wave management etc. Things I thought were good enough to reach Emerald. Consistently I’m finding a huge disparity in my ability to impact games. Many games with trolls and teammates that tilt easily, especially supports ahem, that will leave lane or go on autopilot. Idk what to do. League is a team based game and if each team member equals out to around 20% of the match’s outcome and you have a teammate inting and tilting you now have an 80% chance to win and the enemy team has a 120% chance. I’m sure the math is off but you get the idea

I have noticed toxicity going way up, largely due to the fact that one or more roles have a large skill gap. This makes it very easy to blame teammates when there's often a 50 cs or more gap between a player and their opponent. Riot has injected way too much chaos into the game.

Curtis is correct. it's not just important mental wise to let go of thinking we should be the same rank when new split hits. there's little reason to think so. each split is not just meaningless new time period, it's also new patch note with different META. what champions and tactics we were utilising will not be the same strength anymore. that's why resets happen: to retest players starting with partial blank slate. it'd be like old folks having to retake driving test to make sure they deserve their license/rank

Great video. Personally this start of split has ironically been the least harsh for me because I already knew what to expect. I'm still getting pissed and sort of losing my mind cuz I'm human, but it's really not that different from the start of older splits/seasons in the last 2 years so I'm reaping the benefits of having already built a robust tool kit to deal with the situation. I've learned to cover my rank which I didn't used to do like a year ago so I literally can't care about the LP. I already knew the matchmaking was going to be whack and that it was going to be a crap show so I'm not surprised and just upset that Riot is doing 3 splits and still hoping they'll go back to 2 splits. And most importantly I just stop queuing if I'm getting too upset with the matchmaking because I'm not going to learn anything and just lose my mind. That last one is super important because it preserves my mental to continue having a growth mindset instead of a tilt queue "gg noob riot matchmaking" mindset. If I have to cut my block after 1~2 games, then that's fine. Better than doing 3 games and literally not having fun and no longer being able to focus on what I need to improve on in the review. Especially because 1 month down the line from now when the matchmaking gets ironed out, I don't have to waste time recovering my mental and can just keep on chugging along. And once again, screw the 3 splits. We need 2 splits or even just 1 year = 1 season with no pre-season. Even without Riot doing their MMR/LP deflation shenanigans, start of a split/season is always a crap show in terms of matchmaking and having more splits just creates more of this situation throughout a year leaving us with an "unplayable" game.

Honestly I like the clearing of the apex tiers. I am nowhere near that but I think it’s good in the sense that it’s more competitive. In my opinion, the issue at the moment is the 3 splits being too many. I don’t feel it’s enough time to climb for people with busy lives. I played almost none of split 2 and thus I have effectively fallen 2 full ranks from where I ended split 1 to now in split 3. I shouldn’t be this low, it’s simply not fair for the lobbies I am in on average. I started the split mucking about to find out the meta picking any champ and playing fill. Now that I have started playing seriously and having some time over the weekend, I am 15/1 in my proper climb. I get riot needing to do ranked resets, but in lower elo’s and for players that can’t play tens of games per week, it’s not viable.

I found myself anchoring myself to a rank. So my solution was to say "you know what new split let's learn a new champ" it kept the game fun for me and removed any expectations I previously had.

I was 3 games away diamond (my dream rank since the start) but failed to get there last minute. I was then put in p4 and lost all my placement games which sent me into a hyper focus on winning and "getting back what I had" so I kept tilt queuing despite efforts to stop myself. I then decided to take a week off which really helped me detach myself from my glorious 900lp drop and get back on my feet. I'm happy to say I managed to get a decent wr since coming back but more importantly I did not tilt even after loosing the first 2 games proceeding my break which is what i'm most proud of. Seeing this video also relieved a bit of pain knowing I'm not the only one struggling right now.

I was 1 win away from Diamond (dream rank too) 5 times last split. Got very close in the last couple days but couldn't do it. The matchmaking should stabilise over time and things will feel better. Undeniably, a skill issue for me is still frustrating.

I peaked diamond1 split 2 after hard grinding and effort. I had really good winrate with over 40 wins over defeats. At the end of the split i was d4 and pretty much stopped playing. The new split started and i was full of hope and ready to get there again where i used to be. Well, now sitting im emerald 4, barely positive winrate, games being completely unbalanced, even tho i havent changed my playstyle at all, it just feels nothing works. Games are been decided mostly in the first 10-20mins when somene tilts so bad that they refuse to cooperate as a team, league has become more and more of a team game and people can rarely solo carry anymore. Gotta admit split 3 truely is challenging, but i believe that things will get better eventually#phreakseason

it's crazy that in split 2 they made it incredibly easy to get back to your previous rank, they even made placements games be able to start you all the way in diamond 3, previously highest was emerald 1, and now this split they did the completely opposite

I came back the last few weeks of the previous split after a 3 year break and climbed up to high plat / low emerald mmr before the reset… had pretty awful placements and now I’m stuck in Gold with the 45% winrate. I’ve written off climbing this split and am going to just focus on improving as much as possible to hit diamond next season.

Im literally Jim Bob :D Finished diamond 4 last season, currently in emerald 4 with a negative win rate. Granted, I've been trying new champions so I would probably be a bit higher with my main champ but im just figuring things out, having a crack. At first I was a bit confused and therefore frustrated about it, but checking the tier stats on opgg made things clearer. Emerald 4 currently is top 8% on EUW, which I believe was like emerald 2 last split. So taking into consideration me practicing new champs + new rank distribution + early split chaos, my rank actually makes perfect sense. And I'm not too worried about it. Things will balance out eventually, all I can do is play my 3-blocks, review my games and try to improve. Thanks for making this vid Curtis. I think many people are confused about the changes, and it doesn't help when they see people like Agurin struggling in low masters when he literally finished rank 1+2 last split. Definitely agree that riot could have communicated these changes better. Or maybe rather made them next season, instead of awkwardly during a season between splits.

The problem here lies in the toxicity and the readiness to give up and grief within the first 10 minutes of the game, it is so difficult to control the game already from one roll when the rest of your team has already decided to lose the game just because something went wrong. This current split has been so difficult to climb due to players simply not holding themselves accountable to their own actions and their ever increasing frequency to just give up because their game isn't going their way. Keeping your own mental is fine, but there is the limit, and you are human and can't tolerate everything. The fact that your game is decided by those who gives up and runs it down without a second thought as these are the same people who don't want to learn from their mistakes but stroke their own fragile ego AND YOU ARE PAIRED WITH SO MANY OF THEM. The game itself is shifting and changing, meaning you need to constantly learn, that is fine but most people you play with don't and that adds another layer of frustration because you expect these people in your current ranked games to already know and act accordingly to in-game situations. Thank fuck I have a life outside of this game, I can't imagine what level of stress people who make this game their life have to go through

I hate that riot implemented split 3 in season 14. I started to play 3 years ago and I enjoy the role support especially by playing enchanter supports. My first time placement I was placed Bronze 3 and I climbed to silver 1 (It might not sound like an achievement but for me it was) then each new season I only climbed to silver 1 because I did not want to pose back to back. But with my previous seasons I was comfortable playing soloq and I was able to change the game with my support gameplay. Now this 1,5 years I finally managed to get gold (My highest rank was gold 1 75 LP then lost many games back to gold4) and each split I could carry myself to gold again. Now this season I was placed Silver 4 played games back to silver 1, I felt good and boom I lost back to back again (because of bots, boosters, smurfs or they were better). Now I quit the game until the new season start. Because someone that is still low elo I have a harder time climbing soloq (Idm the grinding the rank but the fact that I win 2 games and lose 8 games back to back) Wishing all the summoners hoping they will reach their previous ranks :D and I hope riot fix this!

I usually always land in at least Silver 2 but this time around I’ve been placed into iron 4! Crazy. I haven’t won a single ranked game since this split has started which is very unusual.

@@FritzLaguna-d5r I feel you. It’s even hard to have fun in normal games because the system still queues you up with iron and bronze players. I feel like even though I got back into Silver I find myself having to hard carry every single game, spam pings, and get objectives ( most of my jungles don’t even know how to set up for objectives in this elo). On my alternate account I got up to Gold. Those games are a lot more fun because I feel like I don’t have to babysit, and people are a lot more competent. Most of my friends that I play with in normals are platinum and above and it’s so much fun if you can land yourself some higher elo friends to play norms with.

At the beginning of season 14 Riot shifted gold and platinum players into low Emerald and high plat. Now it seems they have reversed that decision and want the old gold player back in gold. So it's likely you haven't suddenly gotten worse, but the MMR scale is just very different this split and your Emerald rank was artificially inflated by Riot's changes at the beginning of the year.

I was Diamind 2 last Split and were demoted to emerald 1 because of inactivity before the season ended. In Split 1 I even reached Master. Now after my first ranked games I was placed Emerald 3 which I thought is okay and I will get out easily. I was so wrong! I am now playing with Emerald and Platin Players which actually is so weird if you are used to playing with players from higher elo and makes it really hard to climb. Not saying that it's all my teammates fault - thats why I'm "only" diamond and not challenger - but the fact that it is even harder to get out of this elo now makes it so frustrating and I am actually not sure if I want to spend so much time climbing back to diamond. And I think it's not only me. I also play against a few former diamond players from last season who are in the same situation as I am. I also have the feeling everyone is getting extremly frustrated and tilted now. Every game someone starts flaming or inting and gets toxic. This is normal behaivior in Emerald but not every game... Just makes it even more anoying and frustrating...

I didn't even know about this started playing league again steadily improving thanks to your vids but I think they should keep it as it is. Not everyone should be compensated for playing bad. If you really deserve the rank you'll get there anyway. To me that is like giving every kids a trophy despite being last. Peaked Imm 3 in Val D1 in League before grandmasters. Seeing 20k players in immortal just doesn't feel as rewarding after grinding to achieve that rank. People also need to learn that elo doesn't accurately show ur skills. When I was in low elo I got promoted because of my teammates. and that promotion could easily go away just as fast

It has been pretty crazy. D4 and Iron1 in same games. It's best to just not look at ranks pre-game. Fell into the trap of thinking I should be crushing someone, disrespected them even though they win the 1v1 on paper, get punished. Currently have like 40% w/r after losing 9 games in a row 0_o

Thankfully my split's been the polar opposite! I've had a super start to the season. Finished Plat IV last split, and because my MMR was terrible, it placed me in Silver III at the start of this split. I've been hard at work and played well though, so over two weeks with a 65% winrate, I'm back to Platinum IV already! So thankful, this kind of rankup has been such a colossal grind in years past, I often get so stuck. Seeting my sights on Emerald and beyond this split! This split is really frustrating cause I've had so many games with people who were plat last season to diamond last season. Even after giving it a few days it just makes the matches super unbalanced. Riot said they wanted to reduce snowballing this season but all my games have been basically decided in the first 5 minutes because the skill gaps between players was too large. Been playing ranked for like 6-7 years and I have never seen a season/split start be this chaotic and unbalanced in the matchmaking. Winning or losing because of a massive skill gap between teams is not fun because it just feels like the games are decided by a coinflip with then lobby goes through. Really hoping it settles, but this was the worst quality season start I've seen.

Finished plat 4 in split 2 stuck in silver 1 atm. Games do feel more chaotic now since snowballing has been reduced especially in low elo mid to late game feels like a nightmare. Games naturally lasted longer in low elo but now because of the new item changes they last even longer making the games feel more like a coin flip due to big mistakes happening. I do feel like voice chat is needed to communicate quickly and effectively during these mid to late game skirmishes and fights to ensure everyone's on the same page.

Past 2 splits have been the worst for me. I hit Emerald last year and been playing a little in split 1 and ended Emerald again. Then Split 2 was just tough.. As a Senna otp having my champs identity completely removed by making her an enchanter hit me very hard. I was hoping to climb to diamond but she rly just wasn't working out for me. I had 0 fun building enchanter and healing my mates that just couldn't carry the game. Ended Emerald 3 and hoped they might change her back soon. Now the new Split started and I got ranked in Gold 3 0LP. Whopping 800LP under my Rank I ended in. 160 Games in and im hardstuck in Platinum doubting myself and everything else. It feels unplayable having nearly every game people afking and refusing to play the game. I turned from a Senna OTP to a Veigar Midlane player. I lost my champ, my rank, my fun, my hope. As a 1.4M Senna player I can confidentially say... Senna Enchanter is a joke. And this split is also a joke.

I went from plat 3 at end of split 2, to silver 3 after finishing promos in split 3. I was so excited that I finally made it into plat after multiple seasons of climbing gold. Preface: I OTP Lux, Do 3 Blocks, Exercise, Nutrition, Sleep, etc on lock - play on a schedule. My start to Split 3... Hmm well I peaked B2 last split, ended in B3. OK. Do my placements, win 4/5 - placed IRON 2. OK. Crawl up to B4 where I sit now after maybe 40 games. Every game is worse and worse. I just keep getting a lot of mixture of Iron, Bronze and Silver players. Lots of trolls, inters, people that are coming in titled, chat is crazy - starts in lobby - if I dodge I get 12 hr minimum penalties. Game qualities feel really bad. Trying to keep my head up. Lux keeps getting banned or picked before me. Training to play Sylas. Feels bad but whatever im just out here to learn anyway so I guess its fine - oh and multiple games where the game was dropped because vanguard crashed for everyone - I told myself I wouldn't look at OPGG until I hit 100 games so idk what my wr is - I feel like my account is cursed: Last split the in the last 100 games I played I had a 53% wr but earned -9 lp (51W/45L)

What really annoys me with this change is that I dropped from gold to low silver and sadly had a very unfortunate streak of unwinnable games during and after my placements where I went on a pretty big lose streak, so while I've finally managed to stabilize my win rate I'm now genuinely playing games with people who in previous seasons never went above bronze or low silver. And I can absolutely tell, because if I'm actually matched mid lane I completely wreck the matchup. It's not fun because I feel I'm genuinely not really challenged in lane fundamentals, nor is it fun for my opponent since I'm so much better than they are. And I find it really weird I'm playing with these people because I also don't understand where else they're supposed to go in the ranked system, because if I as a high gold player is placed in low silver, are these bronze and silver now supposed to be low bronze and iron? I'm confident in that if I just fix my win rate I can get back into gold but it just doesn't feel very fair nor is it very fun to play with people who I can tell are way below my own skill level. It also leads to very frustrating games because the matchmaking is extremely uneven in general, so you can have people who were gold and platinum last season and they're just so much better than your bronze jungler who has been bronze last season. I'm sure it will improve over time but ranked is just so chaotic right now and it just isn't fun. What's even more frustrating is that I just managed to hit the sweet spot for my actual skill level where I finally felt like I had to really focus on doing my best each game to just have all my progress wiped due to the reset. They could at least have waited until the preseason.

I had a similar experience. I'm bad at the game and am trying to get consistently into gold. Usually place mid/high silver. This split I won most of my placements and got placed into low bronze 1. I feel like I'm playing better than ever, but hit a loss streak after placements (coming off a brutal loss streak last split). As a result I'll likely stop with ranked. This doesn't feel fun and I play to have fun

I've been playing with/against last season diamonds pretty much every game and last split masters fairly often this split. I'm emerald myself and haven't even hit diamond yet although I think I've improved enough to do so but it's crazy seeing last split masters and last split emeralds on the same lobby

Cue the irony, I've actually had the very opposite experience. I had been peaking at around D4-D3 since last year stabilizing my winrate to 50-53% once I reached that position, and on ranked resets going back to Emerald (usually starting Emerald 4 during placements). This split, however, I went all the way down to Platinum 1 and... let's just say, the games didn't match my skill level at all, because my opponents were a lot lower than me and couldn't help themselves from being absolutely curb-stomped. I wonder if the tightening of the MMRs may have reduced game quality by placing players that were not supposed to be "that low" in the first place against a lot of players that are not yet prepared to face them, and that is causing a lot of negative WR starts. I'll just keep my target of reaching Masters this split for now, but will pay attention to how this whole thing develops.

I think the harder MMR resets took only place in the apex tiers. Was last season master and now im currently in emerald 1. Due to the harder MMR reset affected the apex tiers they seem to be overlapping now with the lower ranks below apex. So my lobbys are a mixture of Last season emerald 2 - Master 100 LP players which makes the games really stompy and weird in a way. When I hit masters last season the games were way more homogeneous with a similar skill level and in general an enviroment that felt more competitive. Now I see people checking out mentally way more often than in the last split. Hopefully riot does something about it.

This makes me feel a bit better about dropping out of plat this split after peaking plat 1 or at least I have an explanation now. Since it started I keep getting fresh accounts and high emerald as my toplane opponents which WILL snowball into a win if I even dare to die once or twice. And if I do win my lane, my other teammates get stomped and I fail to carry, because I main Ornn instead of meta 1v9 champs. Now sitting at Gold 2 with 45% winrate and honestly thinking about either just learning 1v9 bruisers or not playing at all until Season ends. This MMR change was a mistake and anyone that doesn't abuse broken candy champs and/or is smurfing 2 full ranks below their peak is needlessly suffering.

I think the drop was simple to explain (Occams razor) they added TS2 recently - and we have AI - whos to say they didnt run a new parse and all we're seeing is people who have not gotten better to experience decay just like a parse system would display. out of 100 people 25-100k damage - 100k may be a 99%-R1 (Challenger) parse / MMR - but if 100 people come in and do 150-200k then youre going down to a 70-80 ( Emerald/Diamond)
