Johnny, don't know why I haven't seen your videos, but I'm sure going to look you up here on KZbin! Love your excitement, we all need a jolt of enthusiasm every once in a while! My carving journey mirrors yours. I saw all the cool stuff everyone else was churning out and got discouraged too. Then along came Linker, KZbin, my approach changed, my style and opinion of learning, we all need mentors. BTW, That bald headbone isn't distracting at all, lots of us are getting our hair cut that way too!! LoL!!

I'm a tool junkie,, I try to buy at least two knives from each maker and not have more than two of any one size in my collection. I use them all and haven't settled on a favorite brand yet.
@earthangel85962 ай бұрын
I am also a knife lover and was curious how you keep from having the same sizes because it's either a rough out or a detail blade usually. Sometimes sheeps foot or broad axe shapes exist but primarily its different sized blades lengths... It's all good either way.♡ just curious
@michaelduncan62872 ай бұрын
@earthangel8596 if I've already got say two in 1 1/2, then pick an 1 3/8 or 1 5/8,,,, got every size from a 3/4 mini detail up to a 2 1/4 roughest and everything in-between. If I end up with more than two of a size,,,, well just don't tell the wife. Gota have two I case you break a tip on one, haha. Interesting to how much different the feel between different makers are even wi5h the same blade size.

Oh OK I gotcha different sizes 😉 @michaelduncan6287 .. 💯% Agree with ya on that.. I can buy a knife and a size I may already have, but the feel of the handle in my hand may be nicer more ergonomical and comfy. Or the steel may cut more effortless & smooth. Combine the two and the next knife I buy may just be my Next Favorite 😍 - my logic

@intlassocofwoodcarvers .. Happy New Year! Mr. Blake, I have been trying and dying to get me one of those IAW-ballcaps! Any avaliable in the near future?! I'd be stoked to represent on my side of the 🌎 globe. Thanks in advance, sir.
