@@helenamcginty4920 Mantis means prophet in Greek, so my guess is the symbology was created in ancient Greece. I looked it up online and there are many ancient cultures who labeled what they saw in nature as being a sign or symbol of a greater power. That time period would be hundreds of years before Copernicus theory that the earth was not at the center of the world they could see (flat earthers abounded) was flat out rejected. The differing religions and philosophies have connected animals and insects to many symbolic meanings over the centuries. The praying mantis was revered. Then again, most religions believe that one reaps what they sow......thus, the shelter will receive blessings Since you asked.

The shelter you have built is an amazing place for all the dogs you rescue but its still not a proper home with a proper family and place they can call their own.
