Steve, I wasn't being judgemental, in fact quite the opposite. No doubt this must be a very difficult but necessary choice in war time. Taking along a dog or a cat when evacuating suddenly for any reason is just not always possible. The people who look out for those pets left behind are national heroes in my opinion.

I'm sorry for your loss. My family lost 2 dogs & a cat to cancer. And 1 dog to a broken back.& distended bladder that wasn't repairable. These pets were family to us. I held 2 of these pets in my arms as they had to be put down. They were given a shot to sleep & I was able to spend time with them rocking them & singing to them. Then they had a shot to go to heaven. I hated it, but it was time to say goodbye.

Porshik is a bear of a dog, so lovable, smart and very friendly. He and Mimi playing together is very sweet, he's bigger but yielding and on his back, except for when it comes to a game of tug. His joy being with Olena is contagious, he even makes Little Chapa roll on her back. The only time I don't see him smile with his tongue hanging is when he sits in the tub... What a GREAT dog he is! I'm in love with Porshik. I'm so happy he's been adopted by a wonderful family because he deserves all the love and freedom to run and play. Thank you, Olena.

If things get worse and more refugees come over, please bring your animals, that's the message from the animal organisations on the border here, I have talked with them myself when dropping off some animal food. They have the capacity at the borders and shelters to look after them here, so don't abandon them, they will be taken care of. God bless to you guys and Ukraine 🇺🇦 🙏. In fact I know there have been times in history (like when Stalin starved his own people and especially Ukraine) when people couldn't even take care of their animals, starved to death and had to eat their own pets and even other people. Russia just really seems to have some horrible rulers that kill their own people and others. I say this as someone with Russian family who escaped, and I hope and pray for all who are still being attacked or hurt. Anyone who goes and rescues dogs or people is heroes.

He definitely is a big teddy bear it was awesome to see mimi have someone her size to play with. Usually she's so gentle with the rescue pups cut they're babies n she knows that so I just thought it was great to see her playing with that big teddy bear they played so well together n I'm so happy he got a new family to love n cherish him he deserves it 💖

It's is understandable, there is war out there. I watched so many people running away with their pets but they were poddles or cats. It's diffcult to take a dog this big with you. Thanks a lot

I think one of the reasons why people leave their animals behind is because they do not know if their pets are allowed into the countries they are going to.

@@komkwam I've been at the train stations little bit helping and I heard very often that it wasn't allowed to enter the train together with an animal. Sometimes they were able to hide their animal under the jacket but just small ones.

Look at how things went in New Orleans during Katrina. In many cases people who tried to stay were forced out, and only people with means were able to take any pets. Another reason to have some emergency plans and preparation, including family or friends who can take in you and your pets elsewhere. Watch the news and if storm or war are coming, get your family out of the way (pets are family).
