I never saw the issue people act like development is irreversible but it isn't, her trauma was exploited just as she was beginning to get better and that can and does cause someone to revert back to a a more comfortable state of being. When things were simpler and they knew what worked, Tsubasa's character wasn't assassinated, people just don't care to understand the pain she's going through. Every time she's tried to do a Duet, every time she's let people get close, others suffer and she loses people, and her grandfather exploited that. He took the precise moment when she was finally beginning to heal, and soiled it with a brutal massacre identical to the one all the way back in season one. Shattering her faith in herself and her allies, and with the addition of some good old fashion brainwashing, manipulated her into leaving just like he planned. People who call it character assassination just don't understand how trauma works and are too insensitive to care.
