Hi Friends and Followers, I've gotten several questions on what app I used to study for my FAA Written Test for Private Pilots and that was the Sporty's Private Pilot Test Prep App that you can get on your iPhone and other devices. ADSB is required with in the boundaries of class a, b, c and up to 10,000ft msl and It's also required with in 30nm of class b, and anywhere in class e above 10,000ft msl discluding 2500ft agl. it's also requires in around the Mexican gulf as the app said.

Hey thank you! I'm not totally sure on whether or not the questions are the same. I think the questions are going to be very similar if not the same. They for sure will be of the same format and style which is going to help you on the FAA test. I am actually using Sporty's Pilot Training course as well for my instrument rating and taking the test prep and practice questions which are really good and helpful! So I think if you go through it, you're going to do well! Hope that helps! Wishing you the best!

@@AmeliorateAviation Thank you! The similarity of questions to the real exam is more important. If you don’t mind sharing, did you use Sporty’s Course for your PPL too? Good luck with your IR! I’ll definitely start my IR after I start and complete PPL. I’ll finish ground school + written exam before starting the flying lessons.

@@metehan_erdogan Oh nice, that's exciting! Quick question for you, are you wanting to fly professionally as an airline/regional pilot, flight instructor or pursue aviation as a hobby? Thanks for your question, for my PPL, I took in person ground school at the university which I attend, when I was preparing for the test, I used Sporty's Private Pilot Training Test Prep App which helped me out tremendously. I did purchase Sporty's Online Ground School Instrument course for somewhere around $200 and that was very beneficial, but it was kind of a combination. There's pros and cons to both, but you can learn everything you need to know online. I think you're wise to finish ground school before starting flight lessons, you'll have a head start and it will make a lot more sense when you're able to apply the knowledge you already have. I honestly wish I would have done it that way, it would have saved me a lot of money lol. Take care!

​@@AmeliorateAviation Thanks for your detailed reply! I think PPL + IR would be enough for me, at least in the near future. I wanted to be an airline pilot when I was a kid but the path to get the ATP needs a big commitment, especially because of the 1500 hour requirement. The time, effort, commitment, and becoming a CFI to build hours could be a good long-term investment, but I am not sure if I can afford such an investment. We will see how the next few years will work out for me. I still have to graduate from college this spring, start and complete my PPL+IR, and get a full-time job before making serious decisions. I planned on starting my flight lessons in march when days are longer and I wanted to use my time until then efficiently, so I decided on getting my medical and prepping for ground school and the written exam. This way I can focus more on flying knowledge than textbook knowledge. Cheers!

Hi thanks for the question! Yea, there is a book with the test questions you can get that will help, and it has multiple choice questions and the answers are circled or written below. You can look up free test questions online and I think you can take free FAA practice tests

Honestly I think being able to use the app is the best way to go, specifically because of the ability to use flash card mode and study to learn or be familiar with the correct answers. I hope that helps you out a bit! Sorry to be responding so late, I’ll try to get back to you sooner!

Hi thanks for the question! Yes, from my experience it would be way better to not buy the Manuel and just study get the app. $15, but it would be the cheaper and more time productive option. It’s got everything you need, study the flash card mode and become familiar with seeing the correct answers first, then start doing the practice tests it offers. That’s my advice from my experience! As much time as you can. I would recommend a minimum of two weeks, but really I would recommend using Shepherd Air and go over it in a month!

Yes, there are! They should be exactly the same questions that you'll see on the FAA exam.

Great question, as far as to my knowledge it does not have a validity date. The questions are from the FAA written test and are updated as the FAA Written Test Questions are updated. Thanks for the question!
