Manana doesn't only mean late for a party. It can also be for more serious things. If your car is supposed to be fixed by 5 pm, it might be manana, or manana-manana. I recommend any paperwork that is important to be started as early as possible, including buying any large or expensive items. As long as you know this will happen, your blood pressure won't blow and you can calmly talk to the person as is necessary. They are not doing something to make you mad, it is a way of life. Mexicans are wonderful people, with a small few who can be nasty, but enjoy the rest and get recommendations for everything.

Great video and thanks for posting. One thing people need to get done is (if married) get their marriage license apostilled by the secretary of state's office in the US state they were married. Once in Mexico they might then need to get that translated by an authorized translator in Mexico. I am married to a Mexican citizen who is also a US citizen. We are going to move from our home in Atlanta to our home in Coyoacan (just south of Mexico City). I have started the process of getting my resident card in Mexico. The nice thing is since I am married to a Mexican citizen I got to bypass the interview at the Mexican Consulate office here in Atlanta and do not have to pass financials. I am able to enter Mexico City airport via a tourist visa and then will have the interview for the resident card. On that subject the Mexican web site for making appointments with Mexican immigration (I am having my interview in Polanco/ Mexico City) has been down since March 15th. There is no estimated time when the web site will be back up. I understand Mexico is doing some type of upgrade to the web site. We will be in Mexico for the month of May and part of June and I hope I can get the interview. Mexico said you can just show up at the immigration office and take your chance they will let you in. Just my two cents but thanks again for your video.

When a person goes through the immigration interview at the consulate and are able to show that they meet the monthly income requirement from a current employer in the states, do they get questioned about that job or income moving to Mexico?

@kylejoseph225
@kylejoseph225 2 жыл бұрын
@@henryharvel5120 you can get questioned again when you arrive in Mexico at the airport. If you are starting the process outside of Mexico it's typically a two stage process, and you need to clear customs to finalise the process at the INM office. We got questioned at the airport. Depending on the embassy you do your interview at, they may or may not inform you about what to say when you arrive in Mexico.

I am married for 21 years to my Mexican husband. We have been traveling to Mexico almost every year since we were married and we purchased a condo in Mexico near my husband's family in Cuernavaca so we have our own place to stay when we are there. I absolutely love Mexico, the people, the culture, the food and the scenery and now that my husband is retiring this year, we want to move to Mexico permanently. Will I be able to obtain my residency if I don't have my own income? I had been caring for my elderly mother for over 13 years and lost my job due to being away to care for her. (I am an only child) I heard the income requirements for residency have been raised to levels that are higher than our household social security income here in U.S.A. We are both over the age of 65 and delayed retirement so I could care for my mother until her passing but now with the income requirements changing have our dreams of retiring to Mexico become impossible because of me?
