Hi ray! Congrats on 1 thousand subsribers!! I'm proud to be one of the first 200 (: I was wondering, during the time that the eclipse was supposed to full I noticed there was still white. I don't know if I just missed it or what. Thanks if you can answer this!!!

Thanks Colten Q very much. I have the exposure and saturation set to high to keep the red levels up. There is only a brief point in time is full coverage. That time is really in seconds. I captured even the light is almost behind in the bottom if it makes sense. You can check live video (prior one) and see how brief the moment was.

For solar eclipses, I was always lucky, excellent or acceptable weather every time. For lunar eclipses it used to be the opposite, clouded out during the eclipse but clear weather the day before and day after, or unlucky cloud during totality (or I overslept during some eclipses when the weather was clean), at least 12 times, but during the 2 last lunar eclipses it was the opposite, clouds disappeared only for the time of the eclipse
@RaysAstrophotography4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Filip! Weather is unpredictable for Astronomers always. No wonder they all end the conversation with "Clear Skies"!!
@filiplinhart90344 жыл бұрын
the eclipse in january 2019 was really beautiful, the partial in july 2019 was nice as well, I didn't like the penumbral one in january 2020, once again the sky was clear only during the eclipse duration, but the eclipse was barely visible

Hi Ray, Thank you for your work. I really enjoyed it. I was wondering, why do the images jump around? Is the earth moving, tilting? Or is this video a composite of multiple camera positions? I’m just curious about that. Looking forward to hearing from you.
@RaysAstrophotography4 жыл бұрын
These are exposures with some time differences. Since Moon is on the go always, you will see the static images moving here and there. Thanks Anya! I hope I answered your question.
