Sun dried tomatoes very expensive here as well and it's such a good way to preserved them because they shrink in size so much .. from 1kg of tomatoes you can get one tiny jar !!! That white wall is our water storage tank :) and actually it was hummingbird and he is coming back in evenings so privileged to witness it G

I am not surprised that the exterior rocks were also in the house. It is going to be hard work to remove that stone, but you did so much out on the patio to get rid of the rock. It will be lovely to see the rocks removed and the floor levelled so you can insulate and pour your floor and then your tile. It sounds like a lot of work, but then it will be beautiful.

There is a hydraulic cement that will crack the large rocks. I believe they have it in Portugal. Drill holes, mix and pour. Works overnight.

The better, insulated floor will make a big difference to your stone cottage. Just needs a little work to get it done. You guys are doing everything the right way, as I feel it will last a lifetime. Patience in getting there is how it happens.❤

You certainly don’t take the easy root towards completion! Digging up the floor! In all that heat no less! I see the tomatoes are still growing strong. Here in uk mine are best described as very disappointing, not sure if it’s just a bad year but 3 tomatoes off of 5 plants is unheard of! Think the weather has been so unseasonal that plants just haven’t coped with it at all. Still never mind, there’s always next year! Looking forward to the next episode ! ❤

Since you brought up the bed. Looking to the future, are you considering a Murphy bed? That being a bed that folds up into a wall cupboard. I've seen also what I call elevator beds that lift up to the ceiling when not being used, but given your ceiling height that probably won't work. If only we could sleep standing up like horses, right?
