@Boi Boi, you defintely can get PVC pipes in England. Probably just called Plastic pipes in most places but you can 100% get it in most stores, pretty sure B&Q sells it or homebase. If not theres plenty of websites that sell them based in Uk and Amazon sells them, just not on prime.

I have 5 of these in my garage, made them when I was a Boy Scout and it was only two weeks ago I was showing them off to my son’s scout troop. Mine don’t have zip tie “launch control” and use a shorter length for the bottle to slide over. Yours may have a “launch tower” kind of effect bc of that longer piece. I had a nostalgia trip with this build! My cousins and I used to do this all summer but we just used a bike pump and made a few adapters with small plastic funnels from home depot and A LOT of electrical tape! Fill bottle with water, plug the hole with the electrical tape, pump with a bike pump and as pressure builds... BLAST OFF!

Hey guys, great video. Love the glow component. We will try that with our troop. A couple of suggestions: For a more permanent solution to the electrical tape ring. You can use a candle to melt the pipe at the point where the bottle stops. When it's warm compress the pipe a little bit to create a compression fitting. The natural flare from the compression will keep the water seal. Otherwise, the electrical tape has to be replaced every so often. Second is if you use propane instead of air you will get more propulsion. Propane compresses better than air.

When I was young during the early 1960s, I had a hand held water rocket that flew really well . The rocket was 7 or 8 inches tall and maaybe 1.5 inches in diameter. I used to experament a lot with different amounts of water to see what made the rocket go the highest. LOTS of fun, but I would have been amazed to see this size of unit!!!

Rather than building a base for it, use a cork with a needle used for inflating balls. Place fins on it so the bottle sits high enough off the ground, fill it a third with water, and inflate until the cork pops out.
