Thanks be to the Prophet, for his deep wisdom on Syria and showing us, as always, the path to love and truth I've been recovering in the ICU after my multiple brain surgeries following a catastrophic car accident, so I guess my memory isn't clear on all this anymore. My last recollection of the currently deposed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, also affectionately known as the 'Butcher of Damascus' is that he was universally regarded as a mass murderer, since he brutally killed over a half of a million of his own people in Syria - 300,000 of whom were non-combatant civilians. That's not to mention the tens-of-thousands of Syrians that he and his psychopath father, Haffaz, tortured in their infamous Sednaya prison, also known throughout the world as the 'human slaughterhouse'. Or the 13 million Syrians who were forcibly displaced from their homes, or the 6.7 million refugees who had to flee the country for their lives. Or all of his own people he killed in a sarin nerve gas attack in a lovely suburb just outside of the capital, Damascus. Together with his murderous father, Haffaz, he plunged an economic powerhouse and Mideast jewel of a democracy into a medieval and poverty stricken slum under the thumb of Russia and Iran. But thank you especially for reminding all of us about the all-loving One and his only Son and how important it is to them that he protected the Christians in Syria all these years - all those deaths , tortures, forced migrations, poverty, and fascist rule just a small price to pay for protecting the less than 300,000 remaining Christians who make up about 2% of the entire population Syrian population.
