Great points Derrick! There’s a lot you take on when you take on employees. Your hustle should be very solid before hiring someone. That person will be representing you and your business. If they screw up - and they will - then you are dealing with an irate customer on top of handling your own clients.

Hey Derick, with so much saturation in the detailing industry how do you recommend growing business, compared to other competitors

Hey bro I’m mobile in so Cal I’ll tell you what I do, I have custom air fresheners with unique scents that are $1 each when you buy 400. I give new customers 2 air fresheners, a microfiber towel, a 6 oz spray bottle filled with ONR at 1:128. 3 peppermint lifesavers and 2 business cards is my “goodie bag”. People love getting “free stuff”. If someone gets a wash and wax, I’ll polish the trunk lid or just the roof so I can show them what the pricier services return. I wanna get my logo CNC’d out of plastic and brush my logo in all the carpets at the end. Make sure you speak to your clients comfortably and professionally, call them back ASAP, don’t show up late when possible and communicate! There’s no one single thing that will make you stand out. You’ll have to be the entire package to really give the impression to your customers, “This guys not fuckin around and I’ll definitely call him for my next detail”.
