MY BOY JACOB GETTING LOVE!

The thing I love about intervals is, like Jacob said here, it’s very catchy and “simple” melodies but still technical and progressive. A lot of pentatonic, triads and, as their name implies, intervals, but the way the songs are structured and how Aaron moves through the pentatonic is super creative. Cool interview 🤘 & new song fckin slaps

Had a chance to meet Jacob after the tesseract/intervals show in Chicago last night. Super nice and humble guy with some sick chops. Hope for the band and Jacob’s continued success.

To show how much I love Jacob, I clicked on this without looking at the length and thought it was just a few minutes. Come to find out, I have now been sitting here for an hour and just now realizing it.......

Having been a huge fan from day one and loving how Anup and Jakobs style complimented Aarons, and seeing them live when they had Mike on vocals, I was initially very disappointed when all of that fell apart but where the project went from there curbed the disappointment. It's just fun, funky, and the songs are super memorable. Especially "fable"! Amazing precision and playing. Love the look of the bass as well.

If he mainly listens to metal, I think it would be cool to hear him actually play in a metal band. There's a lot of overlap between metal and prog, but prog is sort of its own thing, and I don't think most people would consider Intervals to be metal by any stretch. When he talks about collaborations, he talks as if he's tired of playing metal, when I don't even know of any metal songs he's played on, if any. Ever since Nolly quit Periphery, there's been a huge void in terms of inspiring metal bassists who are as if not more noteworthy than most metal guitarists and drummers who normally get the spotlight, and the fact that more and more guitarists are basically playing in the bass range doesn't really help that (although it is a neat trend aside from that perspective). That would be kind of funny if Intervals suddenly did an entire metal album out of nowhere, or maybe not funny but kind of neat if they went kind of dark for a few songs similar to what Polyphia's done, but in their own way.
