Watcher of the Skies - Intro - LMMS with Redtron VST

Excellent, I’ve played this in bands since Genesis released it. I’ve sold all my MelloTron’s, now using samplers & RedTron. I’m rebuilding the soundfonts, removing all the tape noise in the samples, & extending the samples to 4 octaves, C2 thru C6

Thank you. Since I can't read music and am as far as one can be to being a musician, I was surprised at how (relatively) easy it was to replicate the intro of Watcher of the Skies on LMMS. About your Mellotrons, I bet selling them wasn't an easy decision to make.

@@musicalboxbitspieces ***Your ear is one of the best gifts a musician can have! I do read music, having played piano since I was 5, pushing 70 now, however I'm not a fast sight reader. My ear on the other hand is advanced. I learned to play so many ELP tunes in the 70's by ear, including Tarkus, Take A Pebble, Hoedown, 3rd Empression... so many. Now, a lot of it's available on sheet music, but those aren't perfect. Keep playing! Yes, I miss my 3 mellotrons, but we moved so much, and it got more difficult for these old bones to lift them. -->I kept all my Moogs and some other keyboards though. -->I no longer have my Hammonds and Leslies either, I've owned 3. I've replaced them with VB3 v1.4 Here's a short clip: cdn.bandmix.com/bandmix_us/media/103/103212/703988.mp3 (listen in stereo) I have the latest version of VB3-II, but GSI completely redid it, and it sounds more classical. For me, it doesn't rock like the previous version.

Excellent. Do you know if there's any way of downloading a version of this which will work with mac/garageband?

I'm not sure honestly. If you can use the Redtron VST on Garage Band, then maybe. I'll check it out when I get back home.

It looks like GarageBand doesn't support VST plugins. It uses something called Auto Units instead. But if you ever install LMMS (with the Redtron VST) I'd be glad to make the Watcher of the Skies file available for download.
