The free plugin that recommend is Prisma, a multiband distortion (up to 4 bands instead of 3) that you can add soft, hard clip, sample divide and pan the certain frequencies that doesn’t do one internal sound.

But if you don’t understand the difference yet that’s all cool, that just means you need to play with the DAW stock plugins until you understand them and know their limitations. Then you’ll understand why sometimes these additional plugins are useful! I know that doesn’t answer your question exactly but it’s the best advice I can give💪

Thank you very much and great question! I think the world of making music with computers is still confined to the grid and sqaureness of every DAW. Any hypothetical plugin that could break out of that mould and offer producers an alternative way to get creative would be great! Equally each and every DAW could put some effort into this too, the responsibility falls on everyone, not just plugin companies. I like to imagine a sonic sandbox where audio knows no bounds. What exactly that means or looks like, i'm not sure. However I believe somebody can work it out haha Anything you'd like to see my friend?

Haha bad news my friend! That’s my real acoustic guitar. I recorded my gf playing it to make that loop. It’s part of a few guitar samples I recorded for my Sonic Textures sample pack. You can check it out if you’re interested but sadly no vst plugin used! Thanks for the comment my friend💪
