My Mother who is in her 80’s grew up eating a grilled cheese and grape jelly sandwich. It’s the only way she will eat one. To make the sandwich: use any bread you like, sharp cheddar cheese sliced, grape jelly spread on one piece of the bread (it must be a Concord grape jelly and be generous), put the sandwich together, butter the outside, grill until super crispy and cheese is melty. I’m not good at lie, the sweet and savory compliment each other. I can hardly wait for you to try it😉😘

Can attest to the peanuts and coke. It started (evidently) with factory workers on break, eating peanuts from the tube (you know the gas station tubes, or maybe cans when they used to put more stuff in cans) dumped in after you drank off a bit of the top of the bottle. This way they could avoid touching the peanuts with work-dirty hands. Belinda Carlisle mentioned it in a song about being country.

Cocktails are the ultimate weird food combo item, mostly because people are drunk when they make em. Like picklebacks n such Also salt in tea and coffee apparently masks the tannins more than adding sugar. Also seasoning pork and steak with a bit of brown sugar is criminally underrated

I don't think it's really all that weird, but I love to add corn to everything, lol. It started when I was little when I had mashed potatoes and corn for dinner one night (amongst whatever else) and my potatoes and corn combined on the plate, so I had a bite that had both, and I loved the flavor so much, I started to just mix them from jump. Then I just kinda started to mix corn with whatever else I was eating, it's especially good in creamy-based pasta dishes (like those hamburger helper stroganoff boxes). I really like corn, so I'm liable to mix it with whatever I'm eating, just to see if it works. It doesn't always, but it does a surprising amount of times. Kind of like how cheese goes well with so much. I also like to dip various beef items in sour cream. It just goes so well with so many sauces and seasonings. Idk. My stepdad was Japanese and he'd cringe every time I'd mix corn into my meals or try to take a beef tip that was so beautifully marianted in Japanese bbq sauce and dip it in sour cream, lol.
