Vintage wrist check would be a 1928 Gruen Percusion that was gifted to my grandfather from my great grandparents on January 3rd 1928 (as engraved on the back if the watch). A family heirloom.

I am wearing the Direnzo wandering Star in green , the closest I will get to Patek . At $700 it is fine piece of integrated jewelry . I will continue to Harbour my longihg for the 222 and would settle for the rose gold overseas in green .

I do own some vintage pieces- 1959 Marvin automatic 1960 Seikomatic self-dater 1971 Omega Seamaster electronic 300Hz chronometer 1973 Girard Perregaux Gyromatic 1974 King Seiko Vanac gold dial 1975 King Seiko day/date hi-bit automatic And my Speedmaster automatic with the gold bezel is from the late 90’s- I don’t know if that counts as vintage yet. If it does, I’m really old😉

These are over-priced, over-hyped watches. Sure, they are well-made and quality, but beyond marketing and branding they simply aren't worth the price. Think about it, the technology being used goes back to the 19th century - not exactly cutting edge. They are flex pieces for people who feel the need to impress other people, or luxury items for collectors with loads of wealth. There's simply no need to obsess over these watches. Is a $100K watch really 100 times better than a $1K watch? If the answer is yes, then what exactly are you getting 100 times more of?
