A few years back I met Josh Shapiro at a FedEx Office I was working at in Beverly Hills. As soon as I laid eyes on the watch he was shipping out I knew right away it was special. You could tell by the craftsmanship it was something extraordinary, and he was kind enough to let me see it up close and hold it in my hand to really get a feel for it. He brought in a number of watches since then to ship out and we would always have great conversations about them. He could tell I was enamored of all these beautiful timepieces. It's so great to see how far he's come. Great father, kind human being and a fine watchmaker!

Great series and the light aircraft piece was very enjoyable. As a Brit with a FAA pilots licence, I wholeheartedly agree that the US is a fantastic place to fly. I generally stick to new and vintage CWC military watchpieces though !!

This has been an enjoyable series, watched all three. Since I am from Pa., I especially enjoyed the Lancaster connection. As for Journe vs Shapiro …. Shapiro clearly wins. It’s made in American Josh seams like a grounded, sincere, and obviously talented watchmaker.

I can admit obsession is definitely linked to collecting. Just bought my first real mechanical/ automatic sinn ezm. 13.1. It’s so much cooler than my g shocks. Crystal so clear. Watches have quirks. And that’s the beauty of them. My first big step only made it worse I think. I guess I’m in to deep?😢

Buying an Aquanaut as his first watch lets you know that this pilot was never going to struggle. He got his license in 40 hours? Of course he did, not like he had to do some extra shifts and fit it in on the weekend. I prefer the Sinn though.
