A Grand Seiko is a hard sell for me. I always associate it with just Seiko and can never see it as a luxury item, despite the price point. Very interesting video, thanks - makes me want to visit.

Why no one in Japan wears the Tissot PRX Quartz?
@TheJapaneseFactory2 ай бұрын
We have seen some PRX, especially automatic. I'm sure there will be a quartz PRX in the future, so feel free to keep watching.

I decided to give grand seiko a try and I thought it was junk. I had better built regular seikos… so I totally understand why folks in Japan have Rolexes. Before anyone attacks me calling me a liar… I did my own video on my grand seiko, I really thought it was junk.

I know there might be a language barrier but calling rolex by an omega model name hurt a little.

It must be lovely to live in a country where you can safely wear a watch in the street

It really is! Hoping that the situation improves around the world 🥺🙏

What I find crazy is the amount of expensive swiss watches japaneses get while Japan is the country that revolutionised the watch industry (and has probably overall the best for the price watches since the pricing of swiss made is purely a marketing strategy). II guess it's all about the name Rolex 😂

Judging by these wealthy people, 2020s are a golden age for watches but a dark age for fashion and style.

Love that the dude with VC and PP has a Baume et Mercier. I have one that I quite enjoy!

Yeah great collection, what Baume et Mercier do you have out of interest? 👀

Yeah totally agree! He’s just a non-pretentious watch guy with tastes. Not only the usual Rolex and Patek, but JLC Baume Mercier and VC!

I was just in Ginza last month. I purchased an Omega Speedmaster sapphire and wore it there. I also picked up a Seamaster for my son. In San Francisco we cannot wear our watches for fear of being robbed. All of my Rolexes are sitting in a safety deposit box. So sad that crime here is rampant. Japan was much safer and I did see several nice watches even in the subway. I will go back next year to buy a Grand Seiko. I am also looking for a GMT Batman.

Is it generally safe to wear a luxury watch in Japan?
@TheJapaneseFactory3 ай бұрын
Yes! No one will ever steal from you in Japan, in very very rare cases yes, but no pickpockets. The best place to flex your piecesz
